Okay all you WL people ;)...I read that the bus drops off and picks up at WL first going to the parks. So what is the typical route?
Say I am going to AK what other resorts am I going to hit before I get to AK?
What about MGM?
Any idea of what we are looking at for travel time would be appreciated! We have never stayed at WL before. Is it better to take the boat over to MK and catch the monorail system to EPCOT? Or is the bus not that bad?
Thanks! :goodvibes

There are no stops on the buses. You board a bus for any park you want and they go straight there. You may have to wait up to 20 minutes for a bus and most rides take 10-20 minutes depending on the route the driver takes. Yes it is ideal and more relaxing to take the boat to MK. It might be quicker to take a bus straight to Epcot then taking a boat to MK beacuse you have to disembark at ticket and transpiortation center and get on another monorail to Epcot. If ging to MK take the boat much easier. They also say if going to another hotel plan on a hour and a half to get to the other hotel. In this case take the baot to MK and board a bus staright to the hotel, will be much quicker. The boat ride by the way picks you up, goes to Fort Wilderness then goes to MK and on the return trip your first stop, enjoy be there in less than two weeks

Thanks! I could have sworn that I read somewhere that the WL bus goes to the other Deluxe resorts in the monorail area on their way to the parks. My DH said I can't believe they would have Deluxe resort guests schlepping to all those other resorts! That is great to know!!!!!

I don't know if that is quite true. I've been on the bus to epcot from WL that first stopped at FW. That ride can take 40 minutes.

I read recently that a bus from the Contemporary stopped at WL before continuing to the park (can't recall which park). I also read recently that someone staying at WL said they did share buses with FW. I think it varies. We'll find out soon enough! We're leaving for the airport in about 14 hours!

We stayed at WL November 2006 and we stopped at Grand Floridian before going to AKL and MGM. And when we took the boat to MK depending on time of day we stopped at Ft. Wilderness first. I thought bus service not so great at WL because of stopping other places first. Just got back from stay at CSR and they don't stop anywhere else and it is much better!

MOST WL park buses do stop at other resorts. I can confirm that WL shares its AKL bus with the Poly and GF. If you're going to Epcot, be prepared for a stop at FW along the way. The only bus that is "direct" is the MK bus.

Wouldn't it be quicker from WL to just take the boat to the CR and hop the monorail for Epcot? I hate taking the bus. Just curious.

I don't think the boat stops at CR on the way to MK...or does it? If it did then you're right, that would be the quickest way to EPCOT.

We just got back from WL and most of the time, we shared buses. It would often stop at FW before going to the park. I specifically remember the bus home from AK was shared with GF and it stopped there first before going to the WL.

I would say the boat to MK, then monorail to EPCOT would be a good idea, if for nothing else but the fun of riding the monorail.

There is another (smaller) boat that runs to CR. It might be somewhat faster to EPCOT, but on the way back to WL it is probably faster to take the bus. The MK boat does a loop from WL to MK to FW to WL in the morning and then switches to WL to FW to MK to WL after 3 PM. That way the boat is direct to MK from WL in the morning and direct back from MK to WL in the afternoon and evening.
