I was looking at their website last night to plan a day trip since its been a couple of years since we've last been to BG. I saw on their main page that they are hosting their very own F&W festival from May 31st until the end of June. It seems like they are doing it the same way as Epcot with booths set-up around the park. We've never been able to get to WDW during food and wine for whatever reason, so it seems like it would be fun to check out BG's version. We were in Epcot in March and we loved the new F&W light version they had going on. Apparently BG has a fireworks show called "illuminights" which made me chuckle (why does that sound so familiar???) Anyways, can't wait to go before it becomes stupid hot here in Virginia.

What a wonderful venue for a Food & Wine event. It is such a beautiful park.

This is actually an interesting idea. Unlike EPCOT, Busch Gardens actually has large themed areas for different countries. So this could be a neat addition. I wonder if there are food cards. I would really hate to bring a lot of cash with me.

You are right about the fireworks naming. I thought it sounded familiar, but was not quite sure where I heard it.

SO, since BG is "borrowing" from WDW, then WDW needs to "borrow" from BG and decorate the entire Magic Kingdom the way BG decorates their entire park for the Christmas/Holiday season. That would be so pretty.

This has the potential to be a great addition to the park's annual events. Busch Gardens Williamsburg is always at the top of the list for most beautiful parks because of their area theming. They have always had pretty good food for a theme park (not as good since it changed hands but still descent) so this should be a great addition to their lineup of special events. Also, unlike all the other parks these events are a part of your daily ticket, even Hallowscream which seem to get bigger each year. This was the first Anhieser Park to start Christmas Town and that has gotten a huge response. Our theme parks in VA usually close after Halloween until late March. Anyone in the area should check out this park. :cool1: Yes it gets hot in the summer but the park is very shaded with nice shaded areas to people watch. They have great rides and beautiful scenery to stroll thru. I cannot wait to check out their food and wine event, the menus look pretty good for a first time.

Im definitly gonna have to check it out on a day off. Never been to the one at WDW but would love to. And when I went last summer every time I heard Illinights I couldnt help but laugh.

There is already lots of yummy food there, so more food will even be better and the setting is perfect.

We were just there for a long weekend two weeks ago and saw the signs for this. As we bought the fun passes - good Opening day through September, we are going to head back a few times this summer from PA and most likely during this as well.

I'm sure BG will do a great job with it, as they do with most things. The park is 2nd to none in a lot of things, and we love visiting whenever we have the chance. The fun pass is a GREAT value at $70. It's basically a season pass for the summer! :thumbsup2
