I called Busch Gardens earlier in the fall to confirm that I would still be able to purchase the 2005 fun cards at the gate mid Decmber (we are hoping to visit 3-4 times during the last two weeks of December).
On the phone I was told that I would still be able to purchase them mid December at the gate.

I just checked on their web site and they are NO LONGER selling the 2005 fun cards but only 2006 fun cards.

I am so upset. I really want to spend 3-4 days there and don't want to have to pay for 3-4 single day tickets (for a family of 4).

Does anybody who is familiar with Busch gardens know whether or not I can still purchase the 2005 fun cards anywhere (at Busch or elsewhere) mid-December.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated. The kids are so looking forward to spending several days at this park.
Thank you

I am also going to post this onthe community board in case anybody over there might know about this situation.

I can't give you a definite answer but I can tell you that we were at Busch Gardens on the day before Thanksgiving and the 2005 Fun Cards were still being sold at the gate. We had purchased one day passes for our family of 4. At the end of the day, we realized that we'd really like to come back again in the spring and next summer so we went to guest services to upgrade to annual passes. We were offered the Fun Cards as an alternative.

Whether they'll still be available in mid-December, I'm not sure. Good luck. I hope they're still there for you when you visit.

if you plan to do seaworld, IOA and universal in addition to BG consider the orlando flex ticket

We are actually only planning on JUST Busch Gardens (3-4) times so thats why I am in this dilemma.

I called BGT and right now I can still buy the 2005 fun cards but they think it might be pulled (but not sure) from their system soon since it is no longer available for purchase on their web site.

I do have an email from Busch Gardens dated May 10 stating that I will still be able to purchase the 2005 fun card Dec 19. I wonder if I took that with me, it that would help. The silver passports (valid for a 12 month period) are twice as much money and we won't be back in the next 12 months to use them anyway.

I wonder if they have a will call or anything like this although I would be a little lerry to do this. They don't seem on the ball like disney and I would be worried about using a will call transaction.

Any thoughts anybody?

If I knew that htis would be my dilemma nmow, I would have bought them back in May (when I was told they would still be available to purchase at the gate Dec 19)

Thanks for all the info. thus far.

check out the "absolute adventure" card ....we got vouchers for either seaworld or busch gardens ( are using them for seaworld ), they allow 5 consecutive days from the day of first entry...it seems this is a "pass" they might sell to hotels to use in promotions......

BUT

check google for "caa busch garden 5 day tickets" .....they seem to have a 5 day/2 park canadian at par ticket for

2 Park/5-day Pass
Adult: $123.51 CDN
Child (ages 3-9): $100.29 CDN

5-day passes are valid at both SeaWorld Florida and Busch Gardens Florida and must be used within 7 days of first day visit. All pricing is subject to change. Subject to availabilitly. Taxes are included. Valid for one year from the date of purchase.

hope this helps, might be a way you can extend your visits to busch gardens, this is sorta like 100$ US, which is cheaper than "two single day" admission prices at busch since the cost to get in is almost 60$ US per day )

by the way, we leave tomorrow for 7 days.....so just catching up on the last minute dis buzz.....

Well I called Busch Gardens and as of right now, I CAN no longer buy the fun card through the web site OR through their ticket agents!!!!!
BUT they told me that as of today they are still selling them at the gate (but have no idea how long that will last). Teh supervisor thought maybe until the last week of Decmber (if so we will be ok) but was not sure. Every time I talk to Busch they never seem to be able to give me a definate answer about anything.

lawgs:
I checked out the adventure card and we would need 4 therefore the cost would be $400 ( along way from $250 for the 4 2005 fun cards). The $199 price just included the cards for two people.

Also the cost through CAA the cost would still be $450.

So I am just going to keep calling Busch (daily) and confirm that they are still selling the fun cards at the gate.
Unless someone can think of any opther otions of how to get the 2005 fun cards ($63/adults, $52 kids)?????????????

I really don't want to have to pay more then what I had originally planned (about $250).

If things don't work out, I have formulated a back up plan
Cypress Gardens ($32 each for two full days).
only $128 for 4 people.

Any thoughts anyone????????????

Have you asked if you can buy them right now and held at will call?

Calling every day isn't going to tell you anything but a larger phone bill---because it could always change before you get there.

That's what I would try...ask if they'll hold them for you at will call, or at their "guest services" window/office equivalent.

That way, you would have a credit card confirmation that you purchased the tickets...

Last resort..know anyone that might be there, or would be willing to pick them up for you??

Let us know what happens:)

Ed'td to add:

I found a website out of the UK that has them for sale..here it is:
http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/bustick.html

If they can't ship them to you in time, give www.discountorlandovacation.com a call..and ask Jeff (the owner)if they have them available. If they don't I'll bet "dollars to donuts" that he can point you in the right direction, a discount broker in Orlando must have access to them, if they do in the UK:)

HTH!

Thanks for all the info. Disers are so great.

I called them again today and was told that they do not have will call of any sort. Also, since the 2005 fun cards are no longer offered on their web site or their ticket system I can't order them now anyway.
BUT the person I spoke to today assured me that yes, the 2005 fun card will be available for purchase at the gate on Dec 19. He seemed quite sure of himself so I will just show up and hope for the best. If not, I think we will pass on Busch Gardens and go to Cypress gardens for two days. I have a coupon for this park for $32 each for two full days.

mbb: thanks for the info. I spoke to DH about a combo seaworld and Busch and the price is great considering you get 5 full park days for such a cheap price!!!!!
But we are really hoping to do a beach holiday plus a few days at Busch Gardens. Driving up to Seaworld (we will be in Siesta Key, near Sarasota) twice in 7 days (plus p to Busch Gardens 3 times in seven days) is a little much for a beach type holiday.
Plus week 3 in Florida we will be in Disney for 8 nights (7 park days there) so I just don't want to "theme park"too much this trip!!!!!
But what a great price!!!!

I think I will just show up at Busch Dec 19 and hope I can still get a fun card. The fellow I spoke to today at Busch seemed 100% that the 2005 fun cards will still be available for sale Dec 19.
But just send me some pixie dust ok, just in case please. :sunny:

Have a graet night and thanks again for all the help with this!!!

Well things worked out very well. Using the 1-800 # I had been calling Busch Gardens every few days and was told that YES we could buy the fun cards at the gate.
BUT once at the gate Dec 19, I was told NO that they are no longer selling the 2005 fun cards!!!!! I quoted people I talked to (names and dates) and was getting no where. I then pulled out an email from Busch (dated back in May) that said YES the fun cards would still be available for purchase at the gate Dec 19. All of a sudden, things changed and Busch still couldn't sell me a 2005 fun card since they were no longer in the computer BUT they sold me 2006 fun cards (which for some reason were cheaper thent he 2005 cards by several dollars) and activated them early. Therefore, we had 3 visits in December 2005 and will be able to go back in 2006 since the card doesn't expire until 12/31/2006.
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I am very happy.
btw, I LOVED Busch Gardens!!!!

There were quite a few people bummed out when BGT canceled the NYE fireworks because of wind. We were lucky to see the fireworks earlier in the week.

Wow--you were lucky!! I'm happy everything went well for you after all.

BTW, we were at Busch Gardens on New Year's Day (1/1/06) and it was EMPTY! I'm so glad we chose to go that day.
