Has anyone been to Busch Gardens lately? We are thinking about going there for Spring Break this year instead of WDW. How does it compare to WDW? Will we be disappointed?
It doesn't compare to Disney, but it's still a great park. It's just very different than Disney. It's not a park to go to everyday for a week though. When we do our non-Disney Florida vacations, we generally include Busch, Sea World and Universal. If you're going down this spring break Aquatica may be open and that is also Busch owned park, so you may be able to get some type of multiple park ticket for the 3 Busch parks
Aquatica is a new water park that is to open March 2008 right next door to Sea World. In addition Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Busch also owns Aquatica and Sea World.
From Aquatica's web site, it looks like it will be a great water park.
There's also a waterpark next door to Busch Gardens Tampa called Adventure Island, but that park is only open seasonally!!So Busch will own 5 parks in Florida Busch Gardens, Adventure Island,Sea World Discovery Cove and Aquatica aside from the other 5 they own in other states.
We went to Busch Gardens in February - took a taxi from Animal Kingdom Lodge to SeaWorld where they have a shuttle bus that takes you to and from Busch. We are big animal lovers and Busch Gardens was amazing!!!! If you love animals, it's a must do - so many more animals (and up close) than Animal Kingdom. They also have a ton of thrill rides at Busch, although we didn't do those. Lots of crazy rollar coasters! They have a great sky tram thing and a train. We paid extra to do the Serengeti Safari, where they take you out on the Savannah in a truck and you get to feed the ghiraffes. It was one of the best vacation experiences we ever had!
