We are thinking about going to BG for spring break this year, but I can't find a lot of info on it. We have 2 boys who will be 6 and 4. They will be around 45" and 42" if they keep drinking milk. They will ride anything they are tall enough for. Is there enough for them to do here to make it worth a family vacation? We are staying away from Disney and US since it is Spring Break and the hotel prices skyrocket. Will their water park be open in April? Anyone know of any websites with BG info besides the official one? Also, are their any cool hotels? Water slides or anything like that?

Thanks for any help!

BG would be a fun one day park unless you are going to their waterpark too, then 2.
We have gone 3 times in the past year and enjoyed them all.
You need to be at least 54" and half crazy for Montu and Kumba.
48" for the other coasters.
46" for log flume.
42" for river raft, Scorpion(coaster), Sandstorm, Crazy Camel and Bumper cars
39" for Rhino Rally.

Avoid Days Inn West of Busch
LaQuinta on Fowler at McKinley is good but no waterslide.

Waterpark should be open.

Well, thank you for the info. It does not sound like it would be worth an 8 hour trip. It will probably be too cold for us to go to the beach in April. i guess I will wait until they are a bit taller.

Some parks should start to reopen by then. If you goto www.rcdb.com and type your location you will be able to locate some parks near you. I'd give you some suggestions but you don't have a location in your profile. If you are traveling 8 hours to goto BG then you might want to check out Wild Adventure in Valdosta, GA. It is a more kid friendly park. They have a mixture of smaller coasters and large and a pretty good selection of flat rides and good shows.

Thanks, I will look into Wild Adventures. We always pass it on our trips to Orlando. We are in Atlanta. We are thinking about going to Carowinds in North Carolina. My guess is it won't compare to any of the parks in Florida. But it is an easy drive and much cheaper than Orlando at Spring Break. The only way to do Universal is to stay on site and the rooms are too high at that time.

We went to Busch Gardens in Oct. with 2 of our girls ages 7, and 4. They were 52" and 42". They loved it! They have asked to go there instead of Disney in March (go figure). The littlest one rode a small looping rollercoaster. My older DD rode a couple of up-side down coasters for the first time. They liked a lot of the rides. They enjoyed feeding the birds in the aviary, too.The only thing we hated about Busch Gardens was the choas of parking and the entrance lines. It is like they are herding hundreds of cattle into a 5 ft. pen. This is the only place I would actually pay for preferred parking from now on. Get there early if you go. We will probably try the water park this time. Any questions? just ask.
We also did Universal last May and they have asked to go there, too. I am with you about staying on-site for Universal.

Carowinds is not like the Florida parks, but it can be decent fun. When are your dates? The website shows that the park will be open Good Friday-Easter Monday, then again the Friday after Easter. It opens for the season 3/20. If you're planning a trip to Charlotte, you may want to consider Discovery Place which is downtown, and is wonderful for kids. We've had season tickets to Carowinds in the past, so I'd be happy to answer any questions.
