We are trying to decide whether to make the journey to Busch Gardens when we visit Orlando this time, and would welcome advice. We have two fairly timid children (aged 4 and 5) and a baby so us grownups are unlikely to get much chance to do the big rides. Is there enough for the tiny ones there?

yes there is quite a lot for the younger children to do.Firstly they have a whole section called land of the dragons which catres for the younger child only. they also have two other sections when you walk round the park for the younger child. You will also find the crowds are not as big as Disney or IOA.we really like Busch gardens but for the large rollercoasters they have. its only an 11/2 max to Busch form Orlando and well worth the visit. :wave2:

For small kids I would put BG ahead of Epcot, IOA and Universal as a destination.

As Paul correctly points out the "Land of the Dragon" is a great area with tree houses, mini versions of the other rides for tiny tots and water areas so they can cool off. The animals areas are also very popular with kids, as are the various shows.

We went to BG when our 2 very timid DDs were 5 & 3. In ended up being their favourite park - and we went back the very next day! (This was because we only had that day until the ticket expired!)

The land of the dragons was superb! Miniature versions of the adult rides.

As others have said there are a number of attractions at BG that are suitable for younger children, and the Land of the Dragon area did seem to be very popular when we were there last October.

One negative though was the seemingly huge number of smokers compared to the Orlando parks. At one stage I wondered if the hospitality area was giving out free packs of cigarettes along with the budweiser!

I'm not sure if our experience was the 'norm' or if we just caught things on a bad day, but it has put us off returning for a while.

We went to BG last Jan when our 2 DS were nearly 4 and 18 months. They loved it, especially all the animals. Our eldest loved the rhino rally - he was just tall enough. They also liked the train and the gorillas. The Land of the Dragons bit was good too, but we only found that late on, so that must be an indication there was plenty to do.
BG is much less frenetic and calmer than other parks, and we seemed to go nowhere near the thrill rides at all. A good day for a different pace.
Having said all that, we did intend to go back, but couldn't be bothered to drive. When they wanted to see animals again we went back to AK.
