My son is fatuated with birds and we really would love to take him to an aviary where he can hold/feed birds. Obviously our first choice is Discovery Cove but that may be too much money. So our next thought is Busch Gardens with their free flight aviary and then Lory Landibg where you can get the cups of nectar to feed them.

Has anyone had experience with this? How were the bird interactions? Will they come close, land on you, eat from the cup etc?

We have been in Lory Landing and the birds did land on us for the nectar. When we went at Christmas I am sure you had to pay more as it included a photo :confused3

I would try and go earlier when it might not be as busy.

The lorikeets will definitely land on you (and in my case, try to make a nest in your hair!)

There is also a free flight aviary at Wild Florida. It's a lot smaller than Busch Gardens but I had a lot of birds land on me there (it was actually hard to get some of them off when it was time to leave!)
