We are staying on site for the first time this August (free dining!). How easy and efficient are the buses? Is it easy to get from Pop to the parks and other resorts? Just trying to sort of plan out our days around our dining ressies. Any help is appreciated! Thanks. :goodvibes

The buses run approx. every 20 min. But you never know if you just missed one. So you could be waiting 20 min for a bus.

The buses take you to a park. You have to go to a park to get to another hotel. All-Star buses do stop at all the All-Star hotels.

I haven't been in almost 7 years but I don't think they have changed the buses schedules.

For our family, Disney transportation has always worked well. You are not able to go between resort hotels by bus, but you can go to a park or to the Ticket and Transportation Center to get to your destination. Of course, you may have to wait during peak times, but it's a fairly organiazed process.:flower3:

POP has excelent bus service. In January we never waited more than 10 minutes on a bus the whole week. We have stayed from deluxe to value and POP has had the best service. We never move our car the entire stay. That being said ,we try to make our ADR's near where we want to be anyway to reduce time spent on the bus. For example if you want to eat at a monorail resort, do it when you will be at MK. Just grab a monorail to the resort. If you want to be a the boardwalk, go from Epcot. It really is very easy to get around and the bus drivers are great at getting you where you need to be. more than once we have had the driver take us somewhere we needed to be but the bus was not going.

You will enjoy POP!!

In general, Pop buses were fine. Just be forewarned that the bus stop for Pop is the furthest from the park exit (lots-o-walking). Also, that when leaving Epcot or esp. MK after fireworks the cue for the bus can be MAJOR long! Like, waiting in line for about an hour holding sleeping children. My experience that also added to the wait and frustration was there seemed to be an awful lot of people on ECV's during these times. I will leave it at that as to not start a whole debate on this. Just know it mattered in decision to drive our own car on these late nts. at MK and Epcot. Epcot was better though, as they seemed to send extra buses when too out of control. Happy planning.

When we stayed at Pop, we only used the buses to get to MK and used our rental car the rest of the time. If you drive to MK, you have to park at the TTC and then take the ferry or monorail to the gate. If you take the bus, it drops you right in front.

Funny story - We did notice at MK that the Pop bus stop was the very last one. After MVMCP, there were lots of people headed for the buses after midnight. There was a CM helping to direct people to the bus stop for their resort. We were walking past him and he said, "Where are you heading?" I said, "Pop. You know, El Cheapo resort at the last stop." He just looked at me and I could tell he was trying not to laugh. He just said, "Enjoy your stay." :rotfl:

The value resorts seem to have the best transportation IMO. Getting to the parks was never really an issue no matter where we stayed. We did notice though that bus service back to the resorts seemed to decline when we stayed at the moderates. We figured the less rooms at the resort, the less busses they may have servicing the resort, but I have no idea if that is the case. At Pop and AS Sport it seemed every time we got to the bus stop there was a bus right there and waiting for us.

Just got back today from POP,:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:. That said, bus service was not bad at all, as far as getting back and forth from the parks. never really had to wait very long for a bus to arrive, but it usually is the last stop at the parks, which is a bummer, especially when you're tired.

Another plus is that POP is close to most of the parks. For example, the ride from POP to MGM was less than 10 mins. In my previous visits, the busses semmed to take much longer, or maybe it's just more efficient now.

If you are wanting to go from resort to resort though, you'll have to transfer at another park or at downtown disney. And keep in mind that the bus stop the driver stops at isn't necessarily the one you go to, to be picked up. Most of the driver's though are pretty good about telling everyone though what stop you should go to, to get back to the resort.
