Bus Transportation at WDW

I pretty much get how the bus transportation works but I have a question...

Here's an example:

Let's say I want to transfer from MK to AK. Would I have to take a bus from MK to, let's say WL, then a bus to AK? Or could I take a bus from MK straight to AK?

from what i understand, there are no park to park buses nor resort to resort buses... so, yes, to get from a park to a park (ie. mk to ak) you would have to first go to a resort... i would select either the closest resort to the destination park or the first bus that comes along (if you are hot and tired and need to sit down!)

another option from mk would be to take the monorail to the contemporary or grand floridian or poly and catch a bus from there to the second park... monorail rides are adventures in and of themselves, esp if you don't have much opportunity to use the monorail...

There are Park to Park Buses. However, from MK to AK you may have to take the monorail to the TTC, then take a bus to AK. I'm not sure on that one.

The only resorts served by TTC are the WL and FW.(Buses)

Yes, there are park to park busses. That's why WDW sells park hopper passes so you can "hop" from park to park using the busses or monorail.

For the MK, busses to/from the AK and MGM stop at the TTC so you will need to use the boat or monorail between the TTC and MK. To/from Epcot use the monorail.

Another easy way is to walk from MK over to the Comtemporary. Very short walk - just exit the park, turn left, and walk down the sidewalk. I would say 5 minutes tops. We walked it many times when we stayed there.
