How long does it take to go from SSR to MK including going through all the bus stops at SSR? I assume this is the longest route of any of the parks. Are any of the other DVC resorts quicker to MK, excluding WLV?

We're a bus transportation family. We've done stays using only bus transportation at OKW, SSR, Swan (which shares w/other EPCOT resorts), VWL, POP, POR, and CSR.

In my experience, no matter where I've stayed, I could count on it taking about 30-45 minutes to get to any of the parks, including wait time for busses. Any extra benefit you'd get from proximity to the parks at a smaller resort gets taken away by the fact that they share busses w/other deluxes.

Honestly, even walking from BWV/the Swan to EPCOT vs. taking a bus ends up being evened out by the fact that you enter way back in the middle of the international showcase. It's a long walk to get to Mission Space from BWV! I would bet that a person leaving a room at OKW and bussing to EPCOT in the morning and a person leaving their room at BWV and walking to Mission Space could very well end up making it to their destination at just about the same time depending on how quickly the OKW person caught a bus.

IMHO, the best transportation to the MK is the boat from VWL.

If you plan to use Disney transportation (and we are huge fans of all of the various transportation options), I think the best thing to do is relax, enjoy, and make the ride and walking part of the magic/experience.

The buses from POP or AK take about 17 mins to get to MK, once your on the bus. Both of these resorts only have one bus stop, what I'd be worried about at SSR or OKW is they have multiple bus stops within the resort, so once you get on the bus at either of those it may take an additional 10 mins just to get out of the resort even though once you leave the resort travel time is probally about the same at POP or AK. Of course things may change in the future when the other section of POP opens and the DVC gets added at AK, then they will both have multiple bus stops as well.

I'll gladly trade 10 minutes at OKW to have a covered bus stop with benches plus always being able to sit on the bus, vs having to stand outside in all weather, long lines at bus stops, and mostly having to stand on the bus at POP. Having now stayed at both POP and OKW, I feel the bus service at OKW is hands down the winner IMO.

I've never noticed the internal bus stops taking that long - in fact, I prefer resorts with multiple stops because you're able to get on and off a bus closer to your room/building & there is usual aple space to sit while you are waiting. It's also very frustrating to wait at a bus stop at the one-stop spots and have the bus fill up before you can get on.

Because we know we're using Disney transportation, we usually request sections close to the last bus stop.

:rotfl: :rotfl: I almost said the same thing!!

Nicely landscaped, shaded bus stops with ample benches make bus-riding much more pleasant.

I agree.
