DH and I were thinking of spending a day in downtown orlando or somewhere else. We were thinking of renting a car just for a day, but I just noticed that there is a lynx bus that picks up for TTC and goes to Seaworld and downtown orlando.

I was just wondering if anyone has taken this bus or what other methods you use for getting about. I've checked out the towncar price, but we are really unsure of our plans and it would be a "fly by the seat of your pants" type of trip that may or may not happen, so I don't want to plan too much for it.

Any suggestions or thoughts?

We always take the Lynx. We catch the #50, transfering to #8 to Beltz factory outlet for a day of shopping. We have also gone to Florida Mall, and we always take the #56 down #192 to Old Town for the Saturday night cruise, and also groceries, Walmart, the flea market etc. We never rent a car. We would rather save our $$ for shopping. We find the bus drivers very helpful. $1.25 each way, transfers free.

If you rent a car, please keep in mind that parking is costly in the downtown area since it is limited.

Wow, kylara, I never knew that. Thanks, makes it another reason not to rent a car!

PamPam, you pick up the #50 at the TTC, right, about how long does it take to get to downtown Orlando?

Approximately 40 minutes. Of course it depends where you go, and if you transfer. I believe the # 50 bus will take you straight from the TTC to downtown without transfers. check on www.golynx.com
