We have a preferred site next week; we normally stay in the Full Hookups. My question is about returning from the parks. Since the buses returning from the parks stop at the Wilderness Lodge before going to the Fort, is it faster to get back to a preferred site by getring off at the WL and taking the bus from the Lodge to the Fort? My thinking is that we will have to ride over to the Fort, get dropped off at the Outpost, and catch a ride from the Outpost to the Settlement. If we catch a bus from the WL, it goes to the Settlement. What has anyone else experienced? I looked but haven't seen this talked about.

We usually stay in the 100 or 200 loop. Most of the time we do get off at the Lodge for the return trip. Usually we will walk back and tend to beat out the bus from the Lodge by walking. If you are not up to the walk, there is also the boat. Personally, unless it is raining, I prefer to just get off at the Lodge.

I had to laugh when I read this post!! :rotfl2:

We thought the same thing...and tried to beat the system on 3 different occasions. It NEVER worked out for us! Maybe if you time it just right, but the odds are unlikely.

Here's an example, we waited and waited for a Fort Wilderness bus at the Animal Kingdom. It finally came and we sat on it FOREVER waiting for the bus drivers to do a shift change after much consideration, there was a Wilderness Lodge bus next to us, so we decided to jump ship and as soon as we did the Fort Wilderness bus left within minutes, and we were still there sitting on the WL bus... UGH! Then once we got to the WL we had to wait FOREVER (ok...after a long day at the part it seemed like forever) at the dock to catch the boat over!

Now picture the same type scenerio 2 more times!!! We finally gave up and stuck with the "proper" transportation! :)

That is my story...maybe it will work out better for you!

Good Luck

if you are in the a site by the marina i would do the lodge bus or boat. another thing me and the family do is switch buses then stop at the settlement and get dinner to go and bring it back to the camper. never had any big problems

Goof-Dad,
That is exactly the thing I was afraid would happen :sad2:, I guess it just depends if the planets are aligned right, LOL. We may give it a shot anyway, just to see what happens and let the bus gods have their laughs.

I have seen so many comments about the bus rides, thanks guys you have convienced me to take our toad........... and drive to all the parks but MK

I walk really, really fast. It is a quest to beat out the bus. We almost always succeed and we get to see the wildlife on the way.
