This is our first time NOT at POFQ so we feel a bit out of our element! We will be there between Christmas and NY's, so getting to parks at RD is super important. Is bus stop 1 the first stop--meaning the first stop with an empty bus? We think we will probably just walk there from wherever we are staying (hopefully close by) so that we are assured of an empty bus. This seems much harder to plan than the one stop bus at POFQ!! Oh--we do NOT want to drive!! Thanks!

Actually, even thought it's labeled Stop #1, it's the last stop.
The Casitas are the first (labeled #2), followed by Ranchos (#3), Cabanas(#4), and El Centro (#1).

I don't know why they have the numbers are in that order, certainly makes things confusing. The pick-up order is there to assist guests in getting to El Centro from the other locations within the resort.

The Theme park buses go Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas, El Centro, but the DTD buses follow the number order and go El Centro, Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas.

If you're not staying in the Casitas, it could be a VERY long walk to the Casitas bus stop. I personally would take my chances and just use the stop closest to my room. I'd rather be standing on the bus for 10 minutes than have to make a long walk first thing in the morning. If you were to be in the Cabanas and wanted to walk to the Casitas bus stop, it could be more than a half mile.

As the PP said, the casitas stop is the first one picked up on the way to the parks, even though it is labeled stop #2. You can book a preferred room at CSR in the casitas (not sure if you did this or if there are any preferred rooms available for that week).

Non-preferred locations include casitas 4 and 5 (casita 4 is next to bus stop #2) and all of the ranchos and cabanas. Ranchos tend to be requested less frequently since they are farthest from the main building, but they are served by bus stop #3, which is the second stop picked up. People in any section can get on any park bus and ride it to the main building if they don't want to walk.

If you have not booked a preferred room, you might want to request casitas 4 or 5 or ranchos if you want to be on the buses early. Our favorite section is the cabanas, but it is picked up third. El Centro is the last stop, and it is frequently standing room only during busy mornings at that stop.

CSR has very good bus service, though. We have not been at a super busy time, but we go in the summer and generally have to stand only after Wishes.

We've stayed at CSR the last 2 Christmases and are headed back next week too, we always request Cabanas (stop#4) and never have a problem at rope drop. Honestly if you are there in time for the first bus you will get on and have a seat. Rarely are the early busses more that half full. Last year we were a group of 9 and we all got a seat together every morning and we did rope drop every day. No need to walk thru that HUGE resort to the first stop. Oh and the first bus will run 30 mins prior to the park opening so no need to get to the bus stop really early either!
