Bus staging at POFQ - Tyler?

I learned the hard way that Disney busses have a "staging area" in the POFQ parking lot between the lots for building 6 and 7. If you happen to be staying in the end of bldg 7 (room 7100 - 7116 and the corresponding rooms on the second and third floor) that you will hear a lot of bus noise early in the morning and again around 10:00 p.m.

I can't believe that with all of Disney's property that they could not do this somewhere else and try not to disturb the guests staying in their hotels. Maybe Tyler could shed some light on this?

P.S. Other than the noise, I liked POFQ.

Couldn't tell you what's going on at 10pm... there shouldn't be any buses in there at that time.

As for the morning, that's the only lot that is available and that would work. It's always empty, and it's very convenient to both locations. There are really no other lots within the complex that would work. And if you move the staging to far away, then you lose the ability to respond to full buses quickly.

Thanks Tyler. I never saw the busses at night, but I heard them. The first morning I asked one of the drivers why there were so many busses around and he said it was a staging area, and that they also did it at night - something to do with Epcot??

They stage for Epcot in the morning... well, "Zone 2" really. Although they are based out of Epcot, they service Port Orleans and go to various different theme parks from there. The night time staging for Epcot happens in the actual Epcot bus parking lot.

The staging for EPCOT at closing is poorly done. Last week we passed up a bus for pop century because it was full. This was at 9 pm. We saw all the buses in the staging area. You would think they would move the next bus up to the loading area. We had enough people waiting to fill it up. Nope, they waited until 9:15 when the people started to pour out to the loading areas. If there was a dispatcher there his brain was AWOL. A bus could have been loaded 15 minutes earlier and been on it's way back for another load that much sooner.
