Tell me about the bus service at POFQ, last time we stayed there about 3 years ago, wasn't impressed, but thinking of giving it another try. Like the smallness of the resort, and the boat ride to DS.

Thanks,

The buses are the buses are the buses. You are going to get good and bad service everywhere, I've stayed at practically all the resorts on site. POFQ only has one stop so there is that but when I stayed at POR a few years ago, they did share a bus with them if it wasn't a busy time of day, I'm not sure if they still do. I wouldn't pick a resort based on the buses since, as I said, they are going to be the same no matter where you stay.

Thank you, I think we have gotten spoiled, we typically stay at CSR, and the bus service has always been amazing, and last year we stayed at SSR and the bus service was really good there also. Just wanting something a little different this time, and love the boat ride to DS.

Last stay at POFQ was 2015 and we noticed few issues with the buses other than one day we had to many buses going to Epcot compared to everywhere else.

It's the luck of the draw and traffic. We were at CSR during the week before Christmas last year and sat at the bus stop for about 45 min waiting on a bus. We got there right after it pulled away and the sign said the next one was coming in 20 min. like it should. Then it kept changing and changing and changing. We weren't in any hurry so it wasn't a big deal and I'm guessing there must have been traffic somewhere. I really have stayed at all the resorts except ASMu, ASmov, AoA, WL and SS and have had buses be right on time and not crowded and have waited close to a hour and had to stand jam packed in them at every single resort. We were there a couple of weeks ago and did a split stay with ASSp and Dolphin, we never waited longer than 15 min. for a bus and that was one morning at ASSp when the MK bus was so crowded they couldn't fit another person on it, we waited for the next bus for that but otherwise every time we left a park or went to a park the bus was just arriving or came about 5 min. later and we never stood. Just good timing and the time of day we were catching the buses.

I was there 3 years ago. I was there last September. I didn't notice any difference in the bus service. If you weren't impressed then I don't think you will be impressed now.

What was it you didn't like?

With only two stops (one per park), it was very disorganized, so people that had waited to get on a bus, would be pushed back by those walking up. So even though I had been there, I would have to wait for another bus. And not a big fan of sharing with POR, coming back from DS one night, I felt like I was on that bus forever because it drops off there first. It was pouring so the boats weren't running.

DITTO:thumbsup2
On average buses are normally very good, but I have to laugh when people complain about, any of WDW, transportation when they are leaving at the busiest times i.e. after fireworks etc. We were not impressed with the monorail, so go figure:laughing: We also do not consider transportation when picking resorts.

We stayed at POFQ last week. The bus service has improved from when we last stayed in 2016. The longest we waited for a bus was at MK in the evening and it was only 20 minutes. We were happy with the buses this time.

I have stayed at POFQ multiple times and only have had one issue with the buses. Otherwise they have been great. One has to remember there are a number of things that can impact ones wait for a bus and it IS still public transportation. I don't mind the areas for the waits. There are multiple parks for each spot so no one knows what bus anyone is waiting for. If I sit, I get up as soon as I see what bus is coming and get into line. Normally I just stand and wait so I can get right into line when my bus comes.

None of those issues have changed. There are still only the two stops, it can still be unorganized (especially in the morning). I had no experience coming back from DS when it's raining but I can imagine that with the boats not running the buses get crazy.

We've never stayed at CSR. Sounds like the bus service is much better than POFQ.

I think this is very important. I get the feeling most people don't use public transportation in their city and are thinking (hoping) the public transportation inside the World would be different. And in my experience it is - more buses, cleaner, no one "camping". But people are people - everywhere. It sure can get crazy in the morning and after fireworks.

The buses are the #1 & only reason I won't stay there. (POR or POFQ)

Online and when I am discussing Disney resorts around my hometown...everyone raves how much they love POR and POFQ! My daughter is a hairstylist & when she booked POR last year, everyone was "ohhhh you will love it!"

Yep, she did. Except for bus transportation. My husband & I visited her several times (we stayed at WL) and rode the bus with her and hated the lines, and the crazy crowds etc.

Great resort in all aspects....except bus system JMHO

I was just there 2 weeks ago, and the only fluke was that we got stuck at epcot for an hour (around 7 PM at night or so)....which was obnoxious because not one, not two, BUT THREE riverside buses came. When the 3rd one pulled up my husband ran up to the driver to ask about a bus for POFQ...very shortly after a bus did arrive.

We did let the front desk know so hopefully they could pass the message along to the transportation overseers...

I would have become annoyed and just boarded the POR bus.
Oh i thought about that, but I dreaded the walk....and I think we had already collapsed the stroller and my kid was melting down.

We did get a paper anytime FP which actually allowed us to restructure our next day to our advantage.

:thumbsup2.....this makes me wonder if POR is so popular that they may dedicate 3 buses to 1 for POFQ?!

We have stayed multiple times at all Mods and again, it is hit or miss. I have not found one resort consistently better then any other.

There are no buses "dedicated" to any resort, they are all waiting on the dispatcher to tell them where to go to next.

We rarely have an issue with the bus stops. We do one of two things when we get to a covered bus stop, 1) start/stand in line where the bus loads or 2) sit on benches or stand around under covered area (knowing we are not in line) and with the bus clocks it makes it much easier, because you now know which bus will be coming next.

I do agree that DS buses are by far the worst from any resort.

I cannot wait until they roll out the bus times function under the MDE app. That will be soooo helpful.

So strange to read this thread and folks saying the bus service is bad because POFQ is our favorite resort and one of the biggest reasons for that is because of the bus service.

It's been a few years since we stayed there (and we have stayed there multiple times), but what we always liked about it was there was only one stop (so no internal bus or needing to wait for your stop at the end of the night). Also, because the resort is so small, I can't remember a time when we didn't get a seat on the bus or had to wait for the next one because it was full. Also, at the end of the night, it was always a treat to walk by the usually insanely long POR bus line and go to the usually very short POFQ line. We also rarely shared a bus unless it was during an off time of the day, and even then the bus always seemed to stop at FQ first anyway.

I don't recall ever having to wait an exceedingly long time for a particular bus but I'm sure it's happened, it's happened at every resort I've ever stayed in, but that's more luck than anything.

Just my two cents. I know the transportation is hit or miss everywhere and a lot of it is up to chance, but we're staying at FQ again later this year so I guess I'll get a chance to reassess once more!
