We usually rent a car, so I'm a little behind on my bussing facts.

There is no bus between DTD and the parks right? If we need to get to DTD from say the AK we need to go to a resort first? I understand not wanting people offsite to park at DTD, but what a pain for us resort guests!

What about transportation from resorts to the Boardwalk area? Do you have to take a bus to a park and then another bus to the Boardwalk?

I might end of renting a car anyway if this turns out to be a pain. I don't mind bussing to the parks, but trying to get anywhere else seems like a challenge and a waste of time. We want to go from DHS to the House of Blues and then back to DHS one night. If that bus schedule is the way I think, we would waste maybe 2 hours just getting from one place to another.

I'm assuming you're talking about "busing" and not "bussing" (bussing means kissing, busing means taking a bus) :)

From my experience I'd avoid ever taking Disney transportation to DTD. The couple times I've used it it's usually taken me close to an hour each way (based on having to wait for buses, stopping at various places, stops at other resorts, etc).

However if you really want to take the bus DHS to DTD may not be too bad. You can walk from DHS to the Boardwalk Inn (about 10 minute walk) or take the boat and then hop on the DTD bus at the Boardwalk Inn. In fact for your other question about getting to the Boardwalk area, it's pretty much the same thing - just take the bus from the resort to DHS and then walk over to the boardwalk. It's a nice stroll.

I guess I mean "busing" since I'm leaving DH at home (that word just doesn't look right).

Thanks for the confirmation, I think I'll rent a car :)

If you're at AK, you can take a bus to AKL, then to DTD.

At MK, you can take the monorail to any of the resorts and a bus to DTD.

At EPCOT or DHS, you can walk or take a Friendship launch to any of the EPCOT area resorts, then a bus to DTD.

The Boardwalk is outside BWI (Boardwalk Inn), so you can walk through the lobby and catch a bus to DTD or another park. Although, EPCOT & DHS both are easily accessible via Friendship launch or walking.

It's really fairly easy when you figure out the WDW transportation system. I find I park my rental car and take WDW transportation most of the time!

When we went in February 2010 there was a bus to take from AK to DTD then you can catch a bus to your resort of choice. They were testing this. If your at DHS can take the Ferry across to Boardwalk area resorts. We stopped renting a car ten years ago as the bus to us is the easiest and fastest way to get anywhere.

For House of Blues from your resort take bus to DTD to West side (by Planet Hollywood stop) and walk to HOB. Not sure what time your eating at HOB but DHS closes fairly early. And you would need to take your resort bus back to resort and catch a DHS bus. This none should take two hours as you drive you mess with traffic.:cheer2:

What time of day? I could see this done long after park closing to get stragglers out of AK to their resorts without running the normal complement of resort buses for small numbers of people.
