Bus issue @ GF

This may be a very isolated case. But, since I read about bus issues at other resorts, I thought I will throw this one out.

Went to WDW and stayed at GF for 8 nights last week with another family. The other couple went out to DTD for an adults night out and left their DS2 with an in-room sitter. It was 1 AM and they were on their way back to GF. The bus driver completely zoned out and missed the GF entrance. He stopped on the main road by the exit of the GF, told everyone who wants off at GF to get out. That was as far as he would take them.

This may just be an isolated incident. My DW and I, on the other hand, did not have any problems with the transportation service @ WDW.

It should not happen at any resort but lately as with housekeeping it is happening at most every resort at some time. The best you can do is let Disney know so they can try to fix the problem.

I hope they got his name and reported him. That's the only way to stop the problems.

I never remember a time when buses weren't an issue at Disney. If we are on a time schedule or don't want to risk it, we either take our own car or just grab a taxi.

I agree that I hope the bus drivers name was taken and reported to the transportation department. It doesn't matter if you are a guest of the GF or the Pop, you should be delivered safely to your resort.

Th same thing happened at SSR. The bus driver went the wrong way into the resort, and then made everyone get off at the front of the resort (he didn't care that the resort has something like five stops) at a point that definitely wasn't a bus stop.

This was however an isolated event.

It seems like a lot of transportation CMs are the rudest of the bunch. Nothing against the unions, but are the drivers, boat pilots, etc. unionized? May explain why the attitude problems because of job security.

My son was once dumped at the TTC bus stops and told he had to walk back to the Polynesian late at night when the MK was open until after midnight for a special event he attended. (The monorails weren't running due to mechanical problem.)

Be careful, some people on this board think it's perfectly OK to be dumped someplace other than your destination, and will flame you for posts like yours. :sad2:

Unfortunately WDW has a long history of not being able to adequately staff their buses with safe, reliable, courteous drivers. Unfortunately for the very few that are assests to the company, it looks like buses will be the next thing to be outsourced, so if you think it's bad now, it's only going to get worse.

Flames don't bother me! :)

My friends did complain to the general manager of GF. They got a free taxi/limo transportation out of the deal to anywhere on the WDW property I think and $200 off their room.

MY DW and I were complaining - Hey! We want to be dropped off at the gate too for $200 off! :)

It helps when you point out a problem right away.

In my experience the deluxes' bus service is not as good as the mods & values.

agnes!

WHAT? You must be joking. Right? I can't even imagine why people would think it OK to be dumped someplace. Boy oh boy, everyone really does have an opinion. :goodvibes

Just suffice it say there is more to that story than one line can cover and I am not taking sides just reporting what happened just as outsourcing is not the end of the World.

Outsourcing has not helped the valet parking situation at the deluxes or HAFH's. We've waited as long, if not longer for our car.

My conversation with a valet at the BC this past Saturday as he brought my car around:

Valet: Do you need directions to anywhere?
Me: No thanks, I'm going home.
Valet: Do you need directions there?
Me: No thanks, I live in Clermont. (Next town over from Kissimme/Lake Buena Vista)
Valet: OK, did you need directions?
Me: (Figuring at this point it was a losing battle) No thanks.

:confused3

Is he waiting for tip (or more tip if you tipped already)? :)

I had already tipped him $2. I hope that he wasn't looking for a larger tip. He did nothing but bring my car. He didn't seem to be able to grasp the fact that I didn't need directions because I was about 15 miles from home. Very odd. :confused3
