Yes, there is a bus from MGM to Epcot. There's also boat transportation available from MGM to Epcot's International Gateway via S&D, Y&BC and BW. The bus is faster (significantly), but the boat ride is more scenic.
If you're a big walker, you also can stroll between the two parks in about 30 minutes via a pathway through BW.
but I never knew there was a bus that went directly there, as well. I thought you had to get to the central transportation hub first and then do a connection from there to get to MGM from Epcot.

A few years ago when the only thrill ride Epcot had was Test Track broke down and the Cast Members did not know when it would be fixed by, my Dad and I left Epcot since that was our main reason for even going at the time and took a bus from there to MGM.
Well when you want to go from another park to the Magic Kingdom, only in that situation you would ride a bus to the TTC and then take the Express Monorail or the boat when going to the Magic Kingdom.
