We are trying to plan what to do on our first day, and we are leaning towards DQ. I would like to go to the Poly after for dinner, and try to see the EWP or Illuminations afterward. Can we get a bus from DTD to Poly, or to the TTC? Can we drive easily from there to Poly if we choose to take our cars?

There is bus service between DTD and the Poly. You can also drive your car to the Poly.

You could also drive to the TTC and walk or monorail to the Poly.

If you plan to go to EPCOT after dinner, I'd park at the TTC - you can monorail to and from EPCOT from the TTC. If you park at the Poly, you will almost surely be given a 3 hour parking pass, which is probably not enough time. You may also want to drive to the Poly, eat and then drive to EPCOT if you plan to end your evening there. FWIW, there is no direct bus service between DTD and any of the major parks.

Disney discourages guests from parking at the MK resorts if they are visiting a park - Since resort parking is limited, they want the guests staying a the Poly to have a place to park.

Best wishes -

Thanks, Carol. If we go to DQ, we won't be going to any parks after. We are just trying to figure out how to do something on our agenda that doesn't require a late night, because we have to be up early that morning for our flights, and I know the kids will want to swim at the hotel in the afternoon or evening. Depending on how we feel when we arrive, and what the weather is like, we may check in, swim, and then go to a park all day. Or, we may go to TL. Not really sure what to do, but I've heard that the pool area at Bryan's Spanish Cove is very plain, so I want the kids to enjoy a themed pool area (serpent waterslide) while they can. Maybe I'll just stop worrying about it!

???? I'm confused. Are you staying at POR or POFQ? Is there another place with a sea serpent water slide?
