Bus Driver/ Idiot fight at Studios

I had a job once where I had to deal with people at their absolute worst, and listen to their problems in great detail, then help them out. (No, I'm not a psychologist/doctor/analyst).

But the horrible thing is, I wasn't allowed to hug them, or comfort them at all. I could push a tissue box at them if they were crying, and let them sit in my office and talk as much as they needed, but sometimes people just need a hug, or even just a hand to hold - and I could have been fired if I did something even as benign as held their hand while they sat there and cried.

So, maybe it isn't that people don't want to do anything - maybe they're used to being told that it's not acceptable to get involved with other people, no matter how much they want to. And when you get like that, you just start to tune everything out.

I was hoping this wasn't our own Magicbus.
Nope, wasn't me. But I do know that driver well. There are a handful of us that went thru training at the same time and have stayed together as a clique ever since. We've become friends and help each other out. We get scheduled on the same days/nights a lot of the time, so we see each other on a regular basis. Great bunch of guys. A lot of kidding around. Because we're all part timers and don't have to make a living driving a bus, the only thing we take very seriously is the actual driving the bus part. The rest of time we're just having fun. And he's no exception. Very pleasant, mild mannered, wouldn't hurt a fly type of guy. I couldn't believe that was him in the video.

I've contacted another member of the group today to see if he had any info. He told me he ran into the driver in question the night after the incident, this second driver didn't know anything had happened the night before at this point and asked him, as he wasn't in costume, where are you going? He responded, "I have a meeting with management, I was involved in an incident last night", that was it.

It will be interesting to see what happens, if anything.

Most likly, a man with a temper like that is just a violent person and you can bet is the same at home. She is probably terrified of him.

He'd be like that at home one time, and ONLY one time. The angry man has to go to sleep sometime, and if he were my angry man, he'd be waking up as a eunich.

You sure your name isn't Lorena? lol

As for the idiot? Two words: entitlement issues

ita! social mores are no longer observed by a large number of people - the overwhelming selfish attitude displayed by people in stressful situations like this is becoming more and more common. A large part of the problem is our collective unwillingness to confront these takers/bullies and holding them to a higher standard of conduct.

couldn't have said it better.

when we were at disney last june, a teenage girl was shoving herself past people at the bus loading line line because, as she said, "i'm tired and i'm getting on that bus first!" and none of the people she passed said a word to her. Not one. You can be sure that girl was absolutely not going to get past me in line that day because i *will* call people on their crap at disney, in the grocery store, at the deli counter or wherever bullies like to shove people around.

The guy in the bus attack is a bully and i'm so glad he was banned from disney for life!

ITA!

:thumbsup2

If I had been there the last thing that bus driver would have had to worry about was Hadji. I can't believe after people watched him sling the kid they didn't wale on this guy.

As the saying in my neck of the woods goes.."We'd have been on him like white on rice!"

In my house, he'd have woke up in the hot place!!!!

I hope he gets help for the sake of his family......pitiful.

I'm lost on the first one and guessing on the second one.

As a reuslt, I'm thinking drivers we'll probably have to go thru some sort of training class on what to do in this type of situation. I't would be good to know what is the Disney way to handle verbal and physical abuse from guests. I've been winging it. All drivers working at closing time have had to deal with it on a nightly basis.

When I first started, I worked nights and every night, I would have to limit boarding a few times. During opening time you get the crowds but it's a totally different mind set. I'm guessing it's my impressive stature that dicourages anyone from messing with me.

Well good morning Lou. What Kim means is he would've gotten his **** whipped. Plain and simple southern style lol.

I showed this video to a couple people who also agreed he would've had it beat pretty good. I can understand if people went around him and they didn't get on because of that but grabbing this guy was way too much. I wonder had somebody beat this clown to sleep if they would've been charged with a hate crime since it was an arabic descent person? Like Steve said the liberal mindset would probably make this guy a victim.

I am far from liberal, Donnie. I know the value of what a well aimed knee to the groin would have done to this guy or a tight "squeeze and twist" maneuver - if I could have gotten close enough, that is. I'm just saying that being a grey-headed old lady can have its' advantages!! :rolleyes1

I just finished a course in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention as a requirement of my job.( ER Nurse). This is probably what kind of training may be implemented. The course is designed to help you recognize and avoid potentially violent situations. They also teach you ways to escape from certain holds without injuring your attacker. I will not give my opinion on this training.
I agree that our society has become very self-centered or as my father calls it the me-first generation. After reading this post this guy should be glad he didn't pull this act in the FW bus line.

We deal with this all the time at work, it never ends well for the aggressor.

What a idiot. This also helps to prove my point of we drive ouirselves to the parks and back to the hotel. Waiting 1 hr like they said on the video to cram into a bus forget it. As for that dick I hope he gets what he deserves.

Maybe acting like a violent savage where he comes from is acceptable, a way of life and gets you what you want...but not here my friend, not in this country and certainly not anywhere on Disney property.

All I can say is that the bus driver practiced good restraint.

If someone had put their hands around my throat, he would be waking up in a hospital later.

It would be nice, if he was not a resident, that they would deport him also. But with our lenient, liberal translation of immigration & visa laws, he would probably have had to kill the bus driver before they would even consider it.

Yeah right...it could be first degree, premeditated with a lying in wait count added...and they STILL DON'T GET DEPORTED!

SSOOOOOO true!!! I wonder (actually, I can imagine) what would have/could have happened had this loser started up with other guests in line instead of a cast member?

Apparently I'm onna kinda probation,,I gotta keep my mouth shut on this one.:rolleyes1

Most likely he wouldnt have, with the driver it was one on one and no one is likely to intercede, go after the crowd and you have a bus full of people vs one.

Oh..Oh..I know this one..:wave2:
We were in Hollywood Studios getting ready to watch the animation film. In front of us was a man with his wife and two kids. As the rows filled, a woman sat down next to his son. She accidently touch his leg with her foot as she crossed her legs. No big deal..right:confused3 The child didn't make a sound..I didn't even realize she had touched his son. Only the father erupted llike a lunatic. He stood up and screamed "YOU TOUCHED MY SON!"..and then he SPIT on the woman. :crazy2: Seriously..a lugie(sorry not sure of the spelling there) went flying out of this guys mouth and down onto this woman. SO GROSS. I could not believe my eyes.
Well, little did the lunatic know that the womans grown adult son was sitting next to her. The womans son stood up and lunged over his mother to the Father who did the spitting. (you all gettin this....) and started punching the living snot out of him. pirate: All the while he's SCREAMING..."YOU SPIT ON MY MOTHER!"
This erupted all in a matter of seconds. I mean it all happened so fast you couldn't believe it. The film had started..and these people were screaming and fighting. IT WAS SCARY to be in such close proximity, without being able to really move away from it. We're leaning way back in our seats..looking to get our family out of there together. We started to stand..so as to get out of the aisle, as it looked as if this was escalting quickly and bound to spill over onto us.
Then before you know it the entire theater is screaming and people are getting up. You could feel the panic in the air. OUT OF NO WHERE....and I mean I don't have a clue where the heck these guys came from, but two large men..(dressed like tourists in shorts and T shirts) were down that aisle and quite literally pulled these the two brawling men apart. They took them out of the theater along with their families. As we left the theater someone with security approached us and asked us what it was we saw. I guess because we were seated directly behind them.
We told them how that disgusting excuse of man spit on the boys mother.
The womans poor son, turns out spoke very little English, and all he kept repeating to security was just that. "He spit on my mother". We pretty much confirmed exactly what he said. I did hear the father of the boy stating to security that she had kicked his son with her foot. The spitters family stood there absolutely silent. Not a word. The child also didn't appear injured in any way.
I think it was a simple accident where this womans foot or pocketbook had accidently brushed up against the boys leg. His lunatic father thought a good way to handle that would be to spit on a her. What a piece of work.:sad2:
I can't say I know what happened to either of them, as my husband wanted to get the heck out of there. (Personally I wanted to stay around to find out..
