Bus and luggage transfer... or Cab??

Posted this earlier on the Transportation board, and got no responses... anyone here have an opinion???

We are switching resorts halfway through our stay and are trying to decide. In the past when we switched, we let WDW transfer our luggage for us and took a bus to the EE park and then a bus (or Monorail) back to the new hotel to check in early (better room selection and to have it done) before heading off to the park. We would like to do EE on the day of our transfer, so we were wondering which would be better... to do as we have done in the past, or to just get a cab to take us (and luggage?) to the new resort so we can save time to get to the park. We will be going from Pop to AKL.

 :p

Pop will most certainly transfer your luggage for you, just give them a call the night before to set it up. You just leave your luggage in the room, and head off to EE, and they will pick it up sometime that morning for you. Luggage transfer times will happen between 1-3pm.

I know Pop WILL transfer my luggage... they have the best Luggage Services in the World (IMHO), though a little less since someone left to drive a bus.

My question is more about would it be better to just take a cab over to ALK to check in before we head out to EE, rather than have to do a 2 bus trip to check in, then back to EE. The more I type it, the more it sounds like that is probably the way to go, anyway.

Unless anyone else out there has a better idea...

LOL, thanks. :)

I guess then it's really just a personal preference. By the way, in case you didnt know, if you set it up the night before, Pop can help you with your luggage early in the morning to bring it down to the cab.

We have used a cab the last two trips, and really like the convenience. The cost is well worth it, IMO - about $13.50 + tip, first time from Poly-AKL, second time Poly-BWI.

HTH!!

Thanks so much for all the great info and advice! I really think that's what we'll do.

And Thanks again Tyler, as I wouldn't have even thought of asking Pop to help us with the luggage, but it would sure be nice. I'll be sure to call the night before to arrange it.

Do you know if I should arrange for the cab ahead of time, or are there cabs readily available at that time of day? (very early!)

I think we'll use a cab for luggage transfer on our next resort hopping trip in April. We have used WDW transfer before & it was fine - but I think I'd rather check in early on this upcoming trip.

You can call and arrange the cab beforehand if you wish... but usually there will be one waiting under the porte cochere. There was always one there when I came in at 6:45am.
