Burping your house

Another airing out fan. It's supposed to get almost 70 here on Monday so all my windows will be open. Love to let that fresh air in.

never heard of that term. I just say "I am going to open the windows to change the air, or get fresh air."

I've never opened every window in the house and have never heard that term. The most windows we've ever had opened at once were 4. Two upstairs and two downstairs.

The inside of our house would be covered with yellow pollen if we opened all the windows up at once. My poor SUV has already started getting pollen on it. Allergy season is starting for us already.
:joker: I'm in Georgia and I know exactly what you mean. We don't call it burping the house; we just call it opening the front & back doors at the same time. Turn around and DHs eyes are swollen shut and he's hacking up a lung.

just call it airing out. do it as soon as weather permits.

I wish I could remember where I first heard the term. I guess I liked it and it stuck. Apparently that someone must have just made it up.

Air out once week at least. Never heard burp

Never heard that term. We certainly open the windows as soon as we get warm days, though! Are air exchangers popular in other parts of the country? We have one, and using that, we get nice fresh air all winter without opening the windows.

airing the house out. Never heard of "burping the house". I never have all the windows closed for any length of time anyway, even in the winter there is a window open here or there, especially in the bedroom because I like I 60-62 when I sleep so a lot of nights the heat is on in the rest of the house but the bedroom window is open some to let cool air in there.

Love airing the house out this time of year. But, I keep at least one window slightly open (sometimes two) year round. It helps when there is a lot of sickness going around to get fresh air in the house.

We're going up into the 50's today so I will be opening up all the windows and enjoying the fresh air. I've never heard the term burping.

My family has only ever called it "airing out." That must've been a truely funny fellow to have introduced you to the term "burping the house." I recently had all the windows of my apartment open; it was glorious. Thank you Spring!

That is new term to me. Never had all the windows opened here. We have been upper 80s to 90 this week and yucky pollen. Think I will keep windows shut with ac on lol

We had the front and back doors open yesterday since it got to the low 70s here. I don't go around opening up everything though.

And I've never heard the term before.
