Burning candles in your room?

I don't think it's worth the risk. Ever since I got cats, I haven't burned candles as much. I used to used Glade Plug-Ins, but I found that they had to be refilled too often and they weren't very strong after the first week or so.

My DF picked up a Yankee Candle Electric Home Air Freshener for me a while ago:

It is REALLY strong. I actually had to veto the Gardenia one because it was too much for me. Right now I am using the Home Sweet Home one and I love it. I can't wait to try the Spiced Pumpkin one.

I never thought to bring one to the resort. Thanks for the idea.

Officially if you call Disney and speak to the Front Desk, the answer is NO. I am sure guests do it, but it is dangerous.

Febreeze, Oust, plug ins are all great suggestions.

My main reason for burning a candle would be if we would get a previously smoking-allowed room and there were no previously non-smoking rooms available for us to move to. At least a candle would help combat the smoke odor, even though you'd really be fighting a losing battle anyway.

If this is the reason I don't think you should, just ask for another room.

I've done some poking around, and I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Does anyone know what the official policy is for burning candles in your Disney resort room? I'm mainly talking about those little Glade candles that melt into oil, and then burn out when the oil is gone; but I assume that the same policy would cover candles of all types. Candles sometimes frighten me at hotels, you never know what might happen! Have you thought of bring a Glade Wisp instead of burning a candle? I use them at home and I plan on brining one with me for the bath room on our trip! :goodvibes They are basically a blameless candle and they smell great! If you haven't heard of them heres a link to the glade site, check them out!! I think they are fantastic!!

HTH!! Have a great trip!!!

I dislike candles, I will not burn one in my home. Any firefighter will tell you they are dangerous. Even when electricity goes out firefighetrs will tell you use flashlights, not candles becasue of the fire hazard.

I would never burn a candle in a hotel room .I definitely would not bring a Glade Plug in or anything similar! I've heard of a house fire that was caused by one of those!

There are people who have as much trouble with these candles you are burning as you do with the cigarette smell.

I know that some people don't care, they're going to do what they want...and that's fine. Those of us who get sick from it are used to it and won't be raising the holy hell or anything.

I just thought I'd point it out for nice people who don't want to make others sick, but hadn't realized their candles might do that.

All smoking rooms that are now non-smoking should havegone through a deep clean. Including steaming the rugs, furniture, washing walls ect......

This is the same cleaning they would do if someone smoked in a non-smoking room.
