Has anyone ever used the bunk beds at AKL? They look like full size beds on the bottom. Are they only in Savannah and concierge? I have requested them, but am curious if it takes up too much walking room. We will be in the room for homework and such!

We had them in our non-concierge savanah room. My kids loved them. They didn't take up too much floor room, but they did make the room feel less open since they are tall. But they kind of fit in with the theme, so we will definitely request them again.

They were twin mattresses I believe.

Thanks, we are so excited, I would sleep on a blow up mattress! As long as I am at disney!

Bunk beds are only a request, they can't guarentee them. We requested them back in late April for a pool view room at AKL, and didn't get them. Be prepared to make use of two queens. Next time I will bring an air matress or pay for a deluxe with a daybed - lesson learned!

Bunk beds at AKL are twin sized on top and bottom. No double bed on the bottom. The rooms with the bunks usually also have the day bed as well in the room.

We didn't have a daybed in our bunkbed room at AKL. We had poolview, and the connecting room was a HC room, king bed with a twin sized chair-bed.

The bunk beds were great, my kids loved them!

The first morning I wook up to the two of them perched on the top one with big round eyes looking out at the savannah.

I said "what's up guys?"

They said "Mom.....look at the zebras and giraffs!"

That was one of my best memories of the entire trip!!!

We had arrived the night before in the dark, so it was pretty amazing!

On the first night of our May trip, we had bunks in our standardview room. We were pleasantly surprised to find them in our savanna view room for the remainder of our trip. The kids loved them!

Did you switch after the first night to another room?

Stayed twice, bunk both times (twin/twin). Savannah view (non deluxe) and pool view (non deluxe). Do get more floor space...but it does take up visual space in room, so not sure which is better - but the kids like them. (ps also had in WL)

Here is a picture from our trip. They take up less floor space then a queen bed would. We had 5 in our deluxe room and had plenty of space. The nice thing about the beds at AKL is that they sit higher off the floor and you can store your luggage, etc. under the beds.
