Do any of the DVC resorts have bunk beds or single beds? We own at VWL and this has never been an issue in the past, but we are looking at travelling with another couple and their twin daughters and they are adamant that the girls wouldn't sleep in a bed together. Are there any options to get round this? They will be 9 by the way. As always thanks in advance*

No, none of the DVC resorts have bunk beds. The 2 bedrooms at BLT and AKV (not values) sleep 9 and have a sleeper chair in the living room, along with the pull out coach.

I think the treehouses at SSR have bunk beds in one room.

Correct! The Treehouse Villa units at Saratoga Springs Resort have Queen beds in the master and 2nd bedroom, a bunkbed (twin sized) in the 3rd bedroom and both sleeper sofa and sleeper chair in the living room.

I would think that the availabilty in the treehouse villas is pretty limited? Especially of course as we could not book til the 7th month window? We would either be travelling end of May or last 2 weeks in August.

Very limited. You might get lucky, but it would be a pixie-dust moment.

You could suggest that they book themselves a bunk bed room in the Lodge, with you using your points in the Villas. You'd at least be close there. You can do the same thing at AKL/AKV.

As mentioned, the sleeper chairs in AKV and BLT (and, soon, OKW) might help solve this as well.

The only other solution would be to get a 2BR, give the girls the 2nd bedroom (with either two beds or a bed + a pull-out sleeper), and give the other couple the pull out in the LR. But, if you have kids, then it's not clear where they'd sleep.

The other obvious solution is "you will share a bed, or we will not go to Disney...your choice."

If it is your points then you get the master bedroom and they can sort out the sleeping arrangements between the second bedroom and the living room if you don't mind someone sleeping in the living room. The other option is the use of an airbed which I would tell them they are responsible for as well as the linens to go on it. If you also have children then that adds to the issues - I wish you luck. I think the idea of them getting their own room at the lodge sounds really good. Then when you need alone time and space there should be no problem.

We make our invitations with the "this is the room configuration we are offering. You work it out." I'll admit I have little patience for offering people the gift of a room to listen to them make their own terms.

One girl could sleep on the floor (or they both could on air mattresses to make it fair).

This family sounds like a real PITA. With demands like these already before you have even made a reservation, are you really sure you want to vacation with them? They'd be notifying you a day or two ahead of time that the two princesses had to go to X-Camp and won't be able to go to WDW.

Thanks for the replies. Don't be too hard on our friends. To be fair the arrangement is that they will pay for our flights which is likely to be in the region of £3000 and we will supply the accommodation. I don't get the problem either re the sleeping arrangements but if there is a solution then its worth looking for. I think our two kids would happily sleep on the floor if it was that or not go! Mind you so would the wife and I !!

:)I would get two studios and let them have their own space to sort it out. That way, you are giving them the accomodations, privacy and letting them deal with the twins. That way your children can sleep on your own fold out and not on the floor....cause I would imagine that is where the little princesses would NOT sleep.

There are givers and there are takers, sounds like you are taking the "takers" this trip....and all over two 9 year olds....I am sorry I am coming across rude I don't mean to be but dang. So what would happen if you told them there were x amount of beds and you family would not be sleeping on the floor.

Like I said....two studios after 3 days you will be so glad you did...

all the studios at OKW have 2 queen beds and there is room for an air mattress.
