We have not been to Disney in 6 years due to being a family of 6 and the cost. So I want to go in September for "free dining". So for this trip it will be just five of us. One adults and 4 children in the 10 to 14 year age range.

So far I booked Port Orleans for 9/21 to 9/29 with 7 days of tickets no hopping, no extras.

Do I need to call and add dining now or do I wait until May 9th and just call and ask if the room is available with the promotion?

So the price I have for about $3000 is it except for tips, extra food, and transportation right?

I'd wait to see what room discounts come out. you can to room and free dining discounts however it sometimes works out chearper doing room discounts rather than free dining.

i cant not see how a room discount will work out in the favor of the OP. With 5 disney Adult for 9 days-- the free dining will save them almost 2000.00

Unless you have a disney visa, you will have to wait til the 9th. But then yes, just call and have the discount applied (which it most likely will be available).

Sounds like you have it right, $3000 +Extras.

Remember you wont have to pay for Transportation From the Air port to disney, or around disney. But yes, you need to get to orlando

You can't have more than one discount applied to a reservation. Free Dining will be your best deal.

How do I know if the $204 per night that it is showing on the Disney Reservations Site is a Discount? I just "assumed" it was rack rate. I guess this trip is going to cost a lot more if the room rate goes up, so we will not be going.

yes, they can change the rate-- for free dining you pay the going rack rate for the room

If you add free dining there will be no discount on the room rate. Free Dining is your discount, and you can't have more than one discount.

If you didn't already have a discount on the room rate, when you add free dining the price should stay exactly the same.

A room discount for the OP at POR would save them about $340 off rack rate. A free dining discount will save them over $2100 off rack rates.

No, just call on May 9 when the FD promo is released. Be on the phone first thing, those rooms will be in high demand.

You will have to pay tips at the table service restaurants. We don't really pay out of pocket for food on the DDP too often- we bring quickie items like donuts and granola bars or use snack credits for some breakfast items. All WDW transportation is free.

That is your rate, it does not change with free dining.

I was planning on bringing pop tarts, and some other things like that for quicky morning eating. I already made my dining reservations, so now like everyone else I just wait and pray that I get the room.

Exactly, we have 3 teens and 2 almost teens and we only now go to Disney during FD promos . It saves us a small fortune.

It will be me a 14 year old boy and 10 year old triplets gbb. they are all big eaters. I was hoping the deal was as good as I thought. One more week!!!!

I agree wholeheartedly with this! FD with a family of 5 is huge!!!
