Bummer Travel Insurance Question

Oh good! So glad to hear that they at least ruled out the Lymphoma!

I'll be thinking of you as the blood work and MRI are performed.

Thank you for the update! Make sure to let us know what happens :flower:

Thank goodness! I hope that they find a simple reason for the malignant cells and it is easily taken care of. :)

Biopsy negative for lymphoma which is good. The bad is that there were some signs of possible malignant cells from another source that may have spread to the lymph nodes. They stated this was fairly unlikely and may just be an inflammatory response. Next step is more bloodwork and an MRI to look for any other areas that could be concerning. Happy about the lymphoma all-clear and waiting anxiously for the rest. Will keep you posted...

I'm glad to hear that it is not lymphoma (my cousin had non-hodgkins lymphoma, he has thankfully survived, but I know that his treatment was NOT fun!). I too am sending my prayers that it is just an inflammatory response and that you make it through the additional testing with your sanity in tact! This must be a trying time for you and your family.... but when you get the all clear, won't it be great to go celebrate on the Magic!!!! :goodvibes

i'm sure that the rest of the families travelling with us will agree that we all hope you are well for our cruise!

Thank you for letting us know your progress. We care! :grouphug:

Mixed reviews today. MRI looked good which is good news, but the pathologist is concerned that there may be some signs of possible thyroid carcinoma that may be spread to the lymph nodes. They are sending it to be reviewed by a pathologist who specializes in this. Don't get me wrong, we're happy about the MRI being normal, but we feel that we are back at square one in terms of waiting for a potentially bad verdict.

I appreciate you all allowing me to vent here so I can not let the family know how terrified I am right now. Will keep you updated. Fingers crossed...

Ohh...more waiting. I'm so sorry. You can vent here all you want. We are here to listen anytime. I still have been keeping you in my prayers and will do so even more now.

Here is more :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: 's for you.

Prayers, hugs and yes...pixie dust coming your way. Hang in there and please come to us when you need a shoulder. (((hugs)))

Just wanted to add my prayers. The waiting is always so hard. I hope you get some good news soon. We're all thinking of you!

HeelMD, are you a doctor (probably an obvious answer, but I had to ask)?

Thank you once again for the update. It is a slow and scary process, that's for sure. :grouphug:

A mixed blessing, that's for sure. Well, I am sure you will be getting the best of care, which is always a good thing. Please keep us posted :grouphug: .

The quote in the subject line for this post is what my DM said to my DF's oncologist when the oncologist was describing what DF's cancer was going to be like. DM was right, it fought dirty, mean, took cheap shots, cheated...it was a *****. But DF wasn't in there early, like OP is, and OP is going to beat this, because OP is getting his fight up, I can tell, thinking "come out, come out, whereever you are--WHATever you are, 'cuz I'm gonna shut you down and run you out so you'll never come back!!"

So these MRI results can't fool good doctors for long, they're hunting, they're going to get to the source, and you're going to get healthy and lift a drink to toast your own good health many a year after you get rid of whatever is going on that shouldn't be there.

Even a dirty fighting "*****" doesn't stand a chance against pixie dust, and especially against the fury of a DISer who has had DCL plans interfered with!!

We're all with you.

We bo't our travel insurance thru Costco. My 8 yr. old son has a pre-existing medical condition that could potentially cause us to cancel. Costco's TA informed me that their insurance included pre-existing conditions. According to this TA, DCL's insurance did not. So, if you just want to be sure, you may want to look into it for peace of mind.

I, too, live in the Charlotte area. We are fortunate to live in an area with great medical care. I wish you only the best.

HeelMD, sorry to hear you still haven't gotten any firm answers yet. The waiting is excruciating.

As an RN having been through the cancer experience I can tell you it's a huge eye opener to be on "the other side of the bed" (as I'm sure you've already seen with your testing, etc...). A whole new level of vulnerability. :worried: I can say for myself, though, that my own experiences have given me a whole new level of compassion for the patients I take care of. It's made me a better practitioner. (If you haven't seen the movie The Doctor with William Hurt yet it's a really good portrayal of this).

I really wish you'd come say hello over on the Breast Cancer Survivor's thread. We've all been where you are right now and we're happy to listen and offer support, prayers and pixie dust. Hope to see you there and continued good wishes to you. :grouphug:
