Well, it's my own fault. DH and I hesitated because we weren't planning on going this year - then they offered free dining! Our travel dates are 8/26 to 9/1 and I can't get in with free dining at WL! I can pay for it, but not get it free. And DD starts kindergarten on 9/3, so we can't really be flexible with dates. We can't do a more expensive deluxe because we are watching our budget (therefore, really need the free dining), and we need the convenience of WL to MK (also will have our 2 y.o. DD with us, so this is important!). Please someone, give me hope!!!!

Oh, and the part that really stinks is that I am a Disney Visa cardholder and could have done all of this last week!!!

If I remember correctly, someone tried to book WL for the last week of August on the first day Disney VISA cardholders were able to book the free dining promotion, and only preferred rooms were available with the promotion for that week.

I know how you feel. :grouphug:

I'm having a hard booking PC. I have a reservation at Sports but really want Pop.

Our dates are August 22-September 4. My son's first day of school is September 5 so we can't change our dates.

Have you thought about staying at a moderate? Maybe you could book a moderate now, and just keep calling to see if you can change it to WL.:wizard:

The values and moderates are getting booked up as well, especially POR, FWIR. Aim, perhaps, for Caribbean Beach Resort. I think it tends to be the last to fill for things like this.

Keep trying! We had wanted POP, but when I booked the only value available was AS Sports. Yesterday morning I checked online and there was availability at POP, so I called and was able to switch our group of 4 rooms over. I don't really know how it works, but the availability seems to change pretty frequently.

I suspect they review load-levels and forecasts regularly, and reallocate inventory in response.

Well, I booked POFQ for my travel dates. I'm OK with that. Cast member explained that it was the smallest resort and pretty easy to get around. And w/o the travel insurance it will cost around $1700, which is well within budget. I asked her about rooms opening up at WL (because of modifications and cancellations) and she said people that would be unlikely because people usually cancel closer to the 45 day cancellation period. Also, I asked her about Disney adding rooms to the promotion and she said once they're gone they're gone. Unless she thought I was talking about the guest asking for a "special treatment" ... not Disney opening up a block of more rooms?
