Family of four going in June. I had reservations for Hyatt Place (3 nights, total of about $575). BUT, I saw an offer on priceline Express deals that would save me about $260. I booked the express deal and ended up with Anaheim Marriott Suites. It's far away so no more walking to Toy Story parking lot and taking shuttle. Also, no more free breakfast. Also, it's older. Oh well.

Have you ever stayed at Anaheim Marriott Suites? What do you think? I really feel like I lost out and despite the savings I should have stayed with Hyatt Place.

Instead of being bummed about the distance, focus on the extra souvenirs or snacks, or cool hoodie you can now afford.
Yeah. Thanks. That's what I tell myself. The thing is I'm actually not saving much once the shuttle fee and breakfast are added up. Anyway, it's Disneyland so I'm sure we'll have a great time.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is just across Chapman from there, near Embassy and Buca di Beppo. Except for one exhausted night, we walked back and forth every day. And that was in July. We found it to be just fine, FWIW. And even if you want to catch the shuttles, walk up that long block and catch them anyway. Heck, eat breakfast at Denny's THEN catch the shuttles.

I got the Anaheim Marriott suites once by bidding on Priceline, but it was a few years ago. It was nice to have a separate living room and bedroom. I remember the living room furniture seemed a bit shabby. I liked the beds just fine. We did not like the shuttle from the hotel. I think it was ART but I am not positive? We drove some of the days and walked some of the days (I love to walk and didn't mind the morning walk but walking home at night is tougher). It looks like it is exactly a mile to the toy story lot if you wanted to walk there.
We loved having a Target across the street though, very convenient!

We stayed there a couple years ago and we liked the room, we thought the beds were very comfortable. We also ended up there by bidding blind. The only thing I would complain about was the shuttle service. It was fine going to the park, but coming back that night we had to wait a really long time for pick up (close to an hour). We decided to just drive to the parking garage the rest of our stay, so I can't say if the extreme wait at the end of the day was a fluke or normal.

Thanks! I've been debating whether to take the shuttle or not. Sounds like I'll just drive to the parking lot. What's the wait like in the morning? I live to be at the park about an hour before rope drop but I don't think the lot opens until an hour before.

+1 on the Uber. You will avoid the crowds and long lines to get to and from the Toy Story lot and it only costs a couple dollars.

We always get picked up at the Disneyland Hotel or the Grand Californian to avoid the crowds.

Remember you cannot be dropped off at the GCH. You will not be able to get into the hotel. The passenger drop off drive through for the esplanade actually works really well. Its right on Harbor. You should be sure to tip the uber driver because they do have to go up quite a ways past the drop off to make the Uturn. But yah. Its pretty much brilliant if you have old enough people and few enough people. No reason to stay at the overpriced motels across the street for sure!

Yep, if you really don't want to do the walk, that's a good idea. Being dropped at a hotel is more walking than near the main entrance area.

And if I recall correctly there's no u-turn for going back to the hotel since it's just down Harbor.

I stayed there about 10 years ago for a conference, so it may be different now, but when I was there, it was very nice. It's not hard to take public transit to Disneyland, though it can be crowded depending on the time of day. Overall, while it's not as convenient, it's a nice option and think about all that money you are "saving" that you can spend on something else during your trip.

We never do rope drop so I'm afraid I cannot answer regarding early morning shuttle at this hotel. We didn't leave until around 9 a.m., and we waited maybe 5 minutes for the shuttle.

$260 savings over 3 nights is a lot, you've done well! Shout yourself dinner at your favourite restaurant and you'll still have change left over.

Thanks! Your right. I was just worried at first that it really wasn't going to be a savings since I'd have to now buy transportation to the park and breakfast. I'm over that now and happy with the result.

We like Marriott Suites and stay there often. My husband was disappointed that this trip we are staying at Fairfield Inn and he will have to walk instead of taking the shuttle. We have found the shuttle service to be very good.
