Idecided to make one for each child. You know the ones where you stretch batting and material over a canvas frame. Then you put ribbon on diagonally and sew buttons on where the ribbons meet.
Anywho...It would've been cheaper to rip out their wall and reinstall corkboard!!! Probably would've been quicker too.
And of course, I had to go to 2 stores and still didn't get exactly what I wanted for buttons but I refused to go to a 3rd store.
They better like 'em...

I hadn't thought of using canvas, I'll have to get some. I want to make one of these but was trying to work out how to do it with cork and it just seemed like it would be too heavy.

I'll have to look at Hobby Lobby, I know they sell the canvas for good prices.

I've seen these in the stores and they always look so cute. It's a good idea to make them yourself because you can make them match the decor in each room.

They turned out well and the kids do like them. The canvases cost about $9 each, the batting wasn't too expensive. I had an extra sheet set to coordinate stuff for dd's room and ds's room is black and gold (for the Iowa Hawkeyes!) so I just got black cloth (cheap!) and yellow ribbon. The expensive part is the buttons!! I could have saved money by buying cheap ol' plain ones, but that wouldn't have been fun or cute.
