Building requests or not

Just wanted to know how many people actually ask for specific buildings/rooms before they go or do you just wait & see what you get assigned?

What harm can it do? Worst case scenario you get another building/room? Best case, you get exactly what you hope for.

Well I'm thinking just the opposite. I'm hoping (this is a mild hope) for an upgrade and I think my chances of an upgrade increase if I don't have some other request that they are trying to honour.

If I don't get an upgrade (most likely scenario) and when I get into my room I hate it for some reason I can try to get a different room.

If I leave it up to the booking fairies I'll probably be quite happy with whatever I get as it is.

I think I am going to leave it up to the booking fairies as well. I have the same thought - maybe I will get an upgrade if I don't request anything. We have never stayed at this resort before so I don't know what to expect. I'm sure we will be happy with what they decide, if not, we can ask for a room change if possible. Its only 2 days & we aren't planning on spending too much time in the room anyways.

I have always made a request, I do a little research ahead and request something.....but to no avail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NOT EVEN ONCE have ever got my request....lol!!! Oh well!!!

It is my understanding that the resorts don't actually receive the reservation until 5 days prior. I've heard that your best bet is to call the resort direct within those 5 days to make any requests. It seems to be more effective. Can't say I've ever tried but I've heard this from a few different sources. Worth a shot I would think.
