So I have to admit I'm excited about this. But where should I set my expectations for quality of the lightsaber? At $199 + tax, my expectations are pretty high.

The hilts are metal. The plastic blade is heavy duty. You can customize it.

Make sure you don't mention the word lightsaber. you're there to see Savi or get some scrap metal.

The lightsaber is high quality, and worth $200 alone (IMHO). A pin (matching type of light saber) and case is included.
The "show" part of the build is a great experience. Each "builder" may bring 2 guests.

There has not been an advance reservation system during the previews.
Some reports from CM previews have waits of 3 hours
I was a guest during a corporate preview, which was much less crowded than the CM previews -- no wait to purchase, 30 minutes to enter, 20 minute build (times are estimates, since smart watches along with phones were not allowed).

Thanks, and apparently there is a required password to tell the gatherers in order to enter? Any idea there? I'm going on June 3 and just don't want to screw up somehow which will prevent me from getting a saber.

I had also read about a password, but I did not need one -- I must be strong with the Force
The Disneyland App (or Play App) might be needed to discover the password, which is not possible during the previews (no phones allowed)

Has anyone seen the pre-built lightsabers in the Den of Antiquities? Any major difference between those and the custom ones at Savi's?

Looks like the Darth Maul lightsaber will be available at Dok-Ondar. That might be cool!! I wonder how the cost will compare to Savi's.
