Morning, all!

I was watching some YouTube videos of people building their own lightsabers at Hollywood Studios. The videos I saw were from Star Wars Weekends. Is that the only time you can build your own lightsaber or is it always there? I understand there also a place to build one in Disney Springs...

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Available year round at either Tatooine Traders (Star Tours Gift Shop) or Once Upon a Toy at Disney Springs.

It looks real fun folks go mad for it I can see why. They have a great choice at Once upon a toy and there is more room to build I feel.

There is also a location at Mickey's Star Traders in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. The one at Tatooine Traders is staffed though and they will help you go through the process.

They also have Build a Droid.

I think my husband would like the one at Mickey's Star Traders more. I don't think he wants help building it. :rotfl:

You don't have to take the help if you don't want it. Often when teens and adults buy it, the CM is just there to grab the parts you want. All 3 of my kids have built a lightsaber and a droid at Tatooine. Cost will depend on what you put on it, but it was something around $20-$25 if I remember right. The droid was a little less, maybe $15. Just be aware that Tatooine can be pretty busy and crowded. There is a separate line for building a saber or a droid (each has its' own area), but I've seen the line for he saber building get to be 7 or 8 people deep. The CMs do a good job of keeping it moving.

IIRC the basic hilt (one blade, lights up with sounds) was $22 while the double bladed Darth Maul model was $25. Be nice if you could pick up some extra blades for cheap but I guess they really want to sell the electronic hilts :)

Eventually some one will invent a model with lights/sounds AND a fully collapsing blade, that toy will be a big seller!

Is there only one type of hilt? The hubs really wants to build a Luke lightsaber. But if it's not the right hilt he'll be a sad panda.
