My girls have been dying to do Build-a-Bear for 3 years. We don't have one in our area. I saw that there's one at Downtown Disney. Is there anything about it that makes it more Disney-like? Next week we're going to be in another city that has Build-a-Bear and I found a $5 off coupon for that location. If there's nothing special about the DL one, we'll go ahead and make our bears.

I think the only real difference is that they have special 'Disney' outfits and accessories available for sale. :flower: At least as far as I could tell, it was basically the same store as others I've seen...and it was busy!! My girls brought their bears with us on our trip and each bought two Disney outfits at DTD Build-A-Bear. Then they just wanted to go back to the hotel to dress their bears!!! :rotfl: I'd say go ahead and make your bears near you, then bring them on your trip and buy some new outfits.

When you go to the Disney Build a Bear, make sure you go upstairs since people don't realize that it is the same upstairs as downstairs and it is much less busy up there.

The DTD store has really cute princess outfits ($15 each) and Mickey or Minnie outfits ($10 each) that are only available at that store! So I would make the bear near you and then let the kids buy a special Disney outfit.

Great idea to just buy clothes there! Thanks for the tip about upstairs...I figured it would be a very crowded place. We did a Boyd's Bear last fall in Pigeon Forge and it took forever.

Just a note about upstairs...when we were there it was not open. We asked to go upstairs and the clerk told us they usually use that area for birthday parties and open it up when it gets really busy. Not sure how 'busy' it has to be, it was shoulder to shoulder people when we were there! :goodvibes

Do they have the dolls that you can make there? What about princess outfits for the dolls? Any retro Mickey Mouse club stuff?

They have the dolls, but no special disney outfits for the dolls....of course, that is what my DD chose to make there, but we already have several of the bears and Disney outfits for them.

Can anyone describe those dolls or tell me how much they are? My dd7 would probably love to make one as the build-a-bear at our mall doesn't have then neither does their website list them. Any info would be much appreciated!!
