My DD wants to bring her Build-a-bear to Disney. Has anyone had a problem with the x-ray scanner? It doesn't have a sound box, but of course it does have a heart :flower3: I just don't want any issues at the airport.

My DD is awaiting your reply! princess:

Thanks and have a great day!

My daughter has had her bear go through in the past. No problems at all. You should be fine.

The heart is solid cloth, right? It shouldn't be a problem!

In Dec. my niece and nephew (who go nowhere without their Build a bear cat and dog) took there's thru the airport from WA. to Phl. then to Orlando and didn't have any trouble. In fact, their mousekeeper did something fun with the B-A-B every time they went out for the day. The first day, they had them on their beds and when they came back at nite the mousekeeper made it look like they had a party in there (complete with dangling the cat from the ceiling fan with toilet paper) with a note to the kids. There were antics with the stuffed animals every nite, but I can't remember everything my SIL said.

Forgot to mention this, my nephew got a Buzz Lightyear costume for his build a bear dog at downtown disney.

We had no problems with our build a bear we took him through LA, Vegas and San Fran!!

OK, Now I need to know where. My DGS is absolutely crazy about Buzz Lightyear.

Did they have outfits for other characters, too? My DD would love a Cinderella or Snow White costume for her dog. :Pinkbounc

Also, I believe the OP said that hers didn't have the soundbox so it should be OK. Does the soundbox cause problems going through the scanner? DDs dog has the soundbox so it barks. Just wondering. :confused3

WE have a similar company in the UK called the Bear Factory......Our DD took 'BB' (short for Birthday Bear) to Orlando last year with no problems! Her bear has a voice box (Says 'I Love You') and the security guys didn't bat an eyelid!!!!! :)

DKx3 definatly said they had outfits in DTD? Anyone else seen these, if so where abouts please! DD would LOVE a disney outfit for BB!!!!!!! :earsgirl:

Our build-a-bear has been through x-ray with a noise box and no problems. If they are loose, they have to be put in the tray before they are x-ray'ed.

My aunt got one for Christmas that did have a sound box in it and she brought it home on the plane with her without a problem so the others shouldn't pose any problem at all.

Oh Boy :earseek: -I just have to have the tinkerbell ouitfit!!! :cool1: My DD will be sooo suprised!!! that's if I can wait that long to give it to her! :rotfl: Are these outfits only avail on-line or has anyone seem these at the BaB stores?

I just looked on the Build a Bear web site and they have several Disney outfits available. The one's I remember off hand were, Woody, Buzz, Mulan, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Tinkerbell. Also, there was a T-Shirt available that the description says something about it featuring a picture of their workshop in DTD. I haven't been to WDW for many years so I can't help answer that question of whether or not they really is a workshop in DTD, but this sure makes it sound like there is. When I looked at the store locations, though it doesn't list one in DTD. Anyone been there recently who can solve this mystery for us?? :confused3

By the way, I forgot to add that most of the outfits were only $15. I didn't think that was too bad. I think I'll be getting Cinderella for my DD's b-day :goodvibes

I don't remember seeing a BAB workshop at DTD in Florida, but they have a workshop in DTD (if it called that) in CA right outside DL.
