Still trying to decide between a mini van or a "traditional" car and I see that the rear seats in this model fold down.. That could work for me..

Just wondering if they're a reliable car or not.. I know my uncle would buy nothing BUT Buicks - he loved them.. :flower:

Not jumping the gun here - just trying to get a feel for what I might want to look at when the time comes..

I had a regal a few years ago. It was a GREAT car. I gave it to my son when I was done with it and he drove it a few more years. Highly reliable. I loved it and he did too.

I have one for the last 5 years. In my opinion Buick has the best service dept. I never had anything major happen.

Well, the Buick Dealer in our town told me today that the Regal has been the best car for Buick, but his opinion might be a little biased.

I am driving a 1997 Buick Regal. It was my Dad's and when he passed I bought it from his estate. Or rather, they took $4,000 from my portion of the estate.
It had 42,000 miles on it then and now has 54,000.
I did have to put $1,000 into it the month that I bought it, for some minor repairs but it was alot less than I would have paid to have the same work done on my old Mitshubisi.
I do like how the car drives but it feels like an old person's car to me. I know, 51 is old to some of you younger people, but it seems like the kind of car that you see 60 and 70 year olds drive.
I am not sure if they changed the design much because I don't follow that type of stuff but it feels like an old person's car to me. Peggie

I've got a 99 Regal GS that I absolutely adore. I've had it for going on 3 years now, but the only problems I've had with it have been cosmetic and routine (ie: needing to replace the brake pads). Oh, and one bad battery we had to replace.

I'd like another Buick for a new car when I get one. (For an *affordable* new car, as opposed to the Lexus or Acura small SUV I'd like. LOL! )

My DD "inherited" her Grandma's Regal that she got from a Great Uncle. It's 10 years old and same thing, hardly any mileage on it.

I know exactly what you mean about it being an old person's car. Let me guess, is your's blue? :teeth:

Still, the price was right and it's been a good car. :flower:

We have a '99 LS that we bought used. DD bought it from us and we bought it back from her for a work car (instead of buying gas for our F250). It has 160,000 miles on it and is still going strong. We love that car.

These sure sound like some positive reviews.. The one I saw was a 2002 and that fold down rear seat sure is appealing to me..

The gas mileage is supposed to be 29 highway/19 city..

Also saw a 2002 Saturn L300 that looked nice, but no fold down rear seat. Pretty big trunk though - 17.5 cubic feet and the gas mileage is supposed to be 29 highway/21 city.. I've heard that Saturns are pretty reliable too.. Anyone know for sure?

My sister and my in-laws have had Saturns and they have all been reliable cars. I know my sister's cars have had well over 100,000 miles on them. I think the one they have now is a 1995 and still going strong. The nice thing about them is that they don't rust. We have a couple Saturns on our list to look at tomorrow. I will let you know what we think.

You need to make sure you're legally old enough to drive a Buick ;)

I think the minimum age for owning a Buick is 65.

sarcasm...remember, the above is sarcasm....
