We are leaving next week and I wondering if I need to pack bug spray? After an afternoon outside, I was disappointed to see that the snow did not deter the mosquitoes here!! :sad1: Are the insects bad in Disney this time of year?

WDW is very good at keeping the mosquito population under control. I'm not sure how they do it (and I probably don't want to know...) but in the past ten years or so that I've been going, I'm not sure I can recall seeing them.

That's a good question! The only time I have ever seen any annoying bugs was when we were in AK, on the Triceratop Spin...there were these small black gnat type bugs slow flying all over the place. It was gross and weird. The CM didnt seem too bothered by their presence. But that was the only time in all of our trips that I noticed any bugs in Disney.

On Tuesday night, I, along with the people surrounding me, were bitten by mosquitoes while watching the first Fantasmic show. We were sitting in the top three rows of the Pocahontas section. DD, a Fant performer, applies insect repellant before every show.

Last night, she was bitten while walking through Fantasyland so everyone in our group stopped to apply Off using the wipes. I would advise taking the spray or wipes with you.

One night taking the boat back from MK to FW we were bit to pieces. That was summer though, and in Jan/Feb we never experienced any bugs that I can recall. I would probably bring spray or dryer sheets just in case. :)
