Hi,
I've only seen a couple of posts that mention to pack bug spray. How bad will the mosquitoes be at the end of March/start of April in Florida?
Thanks

i live here in FL, i dont see a reason for bug spray unless your going to the campground. Like to the chip and dale thing. Other than that, i personally dont see a need for bug spray.

We went in May of 2007 and didn't notice one squito.

I was wondering how the bugs are in July especially at night? If bug spray is needed what would you recommend. Thanks:cool2:

We always go to Disney in mid-to-late April. Never seen a bug of any kind!

I wouldn't know about July, but I've been hearing that anything without deet doesn't really work. ??? Just know that when you use deet you need to wash it off before going to bed, it is a poison and isn't to be left on after using. :scared:

You can recognize the Disney mosquitos, they're the ones with the mickey ears on. And the will pose for pictures. :cool1:

I've never seen a bug of any kind in the parks. The only bugs I've noticed are the love bugs and I only saw them at the hotel, especially when waiting for the bus. I've only seen those in Oct, but I hear they come out in Sept. I've visited in Nov and they were gone by then. I saw a rat once running across the sidewalk at ASMo, but that's another story.

there might be some at AK that is where all the animals and bugs live!!!!:lmao:

just to let ya'll know bug spray dont bother love bugs, the season here in FL is may and oct...they don't bite,, they are just pests!! So, cover your drinks, and close your mouths lol..they don't taste good...lol!!

We've been biten on certain occasions and places. We only spray ourselves when we're going over to FW and anytime we're going to be hanging around the sand beaches, seems them sand fleas or no see'um live there. Doesn't seem to be any season because we go fall and winter, never been in spring and summer but it doesn't hurt to take a small bottle of bug juice for them evening nights.

Last July I was attacked by the no see'ums and it was not pretty. For over 10 days my legs itched like crazy:scared1: . Our vacation first started in Daytona where I received the nasty bites then on to WDW. The itching was awful so that is why I decided to ask about the bug spray.

as you can see by my trip dates, we always go in the summer, usually July. Only one time I can remember getting bitten and that was on the boat to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop De do....(instead of using the buses). Really bad bites! Other than that, never had a problem! :confused3

Yep, thems those little critters that you don't see, seem to come out more in the night time and we've encountered them more in the sand. When they're done, leave a tiny blood red dot and itches to high heaven. when we returned home, I decided to get some anti-itch stuff from CVS and the druggist said not to waste my money on a brand name product but rub ammonia on it, its the active ingredient in them expensive salves other than peppermint. Does the trick for us. Long time ago they used to sell a plastic, roller ball like pen and it had an ammonia based product that you rolled on the bite, slightly colored brown juice and I saved this through the years and just dump or refill this pen with ammonia.
