Bugs at HHI?

Has anyone been to HHI recently? I'm wondering what type of bugs aside from mosquitos? no-see-ums on the beach? Any particular repellant that worked well?

I have never been down there this time of year and I want to be prepared. Thanks!

We've never had a problem on the beach. In some of the wooded areas we've noticed some no-see-ums, but they shouldn't be an issue at this time of the year anyway. Fall is a wonderful time to be at HH.

We have stayed at HHI 6 times most of them in the fall. Never had a problem with bugs that I can recall. This is one of our favorite Disney resorts. Completely different than Disney World. Have fun and be sure to enjoy the seafood.

We often visit HH in early October. One year (maybe 2008) the no-see-ums were so bad we couldn't even enjoy the pool in the evenings. I would take my son to the pool after dark and it was horrible. I don't usually get in the pool at night and I would stay in from my chin down. They would fly in my mouth, nose, ears. It was awful! One lady was completely covered in pool towels, except for her eyes to be able to watch her child play. That was the only trip where they were that bad, but I won't ever forget that trip!
