Do I need to worry about bugs either at the world or on the ship?

YES, I use bug spray year-round at WDW, I am allergic to the "no-see-ums" and they bite year-round.

I have never been bitten on Castaway Cay (just lucky) but I know folks that have so I'd recommend it there too.

I definitely recommend bringing bug spray or Avon Skin-So-Soft which works very well too. We just got back from Cozumel on the Western and the mosquitos were everywhere, therefore, make sure you have some sort of bug protection with you at all times, regardless of where you are. Have a great vacation whether at WDW or DCL !!
