If we are go going to be out and about in Orlando and staying a couple days near Kennedy Space center, do we need big spray?

Bugs seem to like some people more than others. I live in South Florida and go everywhere (including places like Disney World and Kennedy Space Center) without bug spray and never have a problem. Other people I know get eaten alive.

So, my vote is "yes" for bug spray. Actually, I'd vote for bug spray/sunscreen combo product.

It probably depends on the person. I live in Orlando and don’t own bug spray. I can’t recall the last time I was bit by a mosquito. But perhaps if you’re planning on boating/being near lakes it may be a good idea.

We live in Tampa. In the evenings right now, my husband has been complaining of the bugs in the evening. They haven’t bothered me yet. Better plan to bring spray or the wipes and not need it then to have to find it while on vacation.

I'd definitely say no unless you're planning on staying by a lake/doing lake activities. Other than that, I also can't remember the last time I needed bug spray

For the sake of say $ 10 ..... either bringing it with you or buying it here in Florida ....... BUY it .

Then you will be prepared ............ when vacation is over then bring it home for next vacation ...... Or Dump It.

I've had a home in Orlando for 35 years and have never once used it. No one I know uses it. I feel awful for children when I see them get sprayed with it. It's just not needed.

You’re very fortunate. My DD lives across the street from Lake Davenport and I’ve been bitten while walking to the mailbox. I’ve also been bitten when walking through Fantasyland, while watching Fantasmic, and while walking from the GFla parking lot into the resort for dinner. That’s why I learned it was necessary to use the wipes prior to dusk.

It’s a skin microbe thing - I have microbes that attract mosquitoes while yours must deter them.

Maybe so. I guess I've been to Disney 1000 times and never recall being bit. I find the mosquitos worse in Canada, by far.

So have we and my Step Dad has been bit multiple times at Animal Kingdom, Busch Gardens and Universal Studios. Once he was even bit on the hand just sitting outside having breakfast at Panera on Vineland.

One of his bites at AK was so bad that we had to take him to First Aid there because his leg had swollen up and it had made him that ill and another time we had to find Emergency Care to take him to for Antibiotics. Some people are just more susceptible to bites than others.

To OP: For a couple of Dollars and the 10 seconds it takes to put it on just wear it. Especially if you’re going to be around stagnant water or animals.
