Buffets overpriced due to dining plan?

I feel that the buffets are overpriced when not using a dining plan credit. Seems to me that Disney keeps increasing buffet prices to make them seem like a good use of a dining credit. Has this been discussed before? Even the non-character buffets have increased a lot over the last 2 years.

I was shocked when I looked at the prices for Tiffin's an hour ago. We used to love going to WDW for the great food but now I could easily be swayed to carry a PBJ in my purse!

There was a Junior pricing category in the late 80's. The vacation packages used to be priced as 2 adults, 1 junior and 1 child.

We no longer do buffets because of the price. But we did do one last April and it was worth every penny. Not because of the food or the characters but because of what "extra" we got. After eating breakfast at the Garden Grill we got to ride Soarin back to back. No fast pass needed. Was one of the most magical memories I think I will ever have.

I don't blame the DP. I blame two things:
1. Supply and demand
2. What the market will bear.

Right now WDW is extremely popular and the pricing of everything reflects that. It's not just buffets that have gotten expensive. Check out the cost of resort rooms.

There was Junior pricing years ago. I don’t remember when it changed, but we have been going to WDW since the mid 80’s.

Yes, I remember it, so it didn't change until at least 1991.
Youth = 4-9, Junior, 10-17, Adult 18+. Up to 3 was free

The kid pricing is definitely an issue for me. Last October I paid $50+ at Ohana for my 12 year old nephew to eat some nuggets and fries since he wouldn’t eat anything else.

My son on the spectrum also has a feeding disorder and almost solely exists on fries, w the occasional breadstick, apple, slim Jim, and cereal. You can imagine how much food we have to bring with us for him to be able to eat at WDW.
