If doing the Dining Plan and you do a buffet, I'm noticing the restaurants post a buffet menu(for example, the bbq buffet at Garden Grove) and then a child's buffet also with the standard chicken nuggets, etc., well, my child loves bbq ribs and chicken, however, he is only going to be six during our trip. Can he eat off the adult buffet as well or only the kid's fare? I really don't want him just eating chicken nuggets the whole trip.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they monitor which section of the buffet kids eat from. They just have those kids options since some kids may not like the "adult" options. It is more about the quantity that the kids can eat that determines the kids price vs what they are actually eating.

In the parks and the Disney owned resorts adults and children can choose anything on the buffet they want. There are no restrictions.

The Garden Grove is at the Swan or the Dolphin; neither is owned by Disney, but I assume it's the same policy. It is not on the DDP, however.

Children can eat from the adult section and adults can eat from the child section on the buffets at Disney. :) Otherwise I'd be in big trouble if I wasn't allowed to have Cinnamon Puffed French Toast and Breakfast Pizza at Crystal Palace!

Garden Grove doesn't take the dining plan. There and at any other buffet, there is no limit to what type of food or how much any guest may eat, regardless of age.

Thanks for all the replies! I just realized that place wasn't on the Dining Plan. I'm trying to learn my way around this site. LOL So much information I'm overwhelmed.
Anyway, sounds the buffets for dinner might be the way to go so my son has a better selection.
Another question: Could me and him switch a Quick Service once? Like I eat the pb&j sandwich and grapes, etc and let him get the adult meal? I just don't want him getting burnt out on nuggets and pb&j. I know I would after six days..

At a QS no ones knows or cares what you eat.

You could always list him as an adult for the dining plan, over age 10 and he could eat off the adult menu. If you are paying for the dining plan that would be a big increase in price but if you are getting free dining plan it wouldn't matter. I read on this board all the time where ppl talk about "upgrading" their child to the adult dining plan so they could eat better food or more food.

You would also have to get him an adult ticket.
