We have reservations at Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. Do kids have to eat from the kid selections at the buffet or can they eat any of the food? Oh, and the same thing with Garden Grill, do they need to eat the kid food? Thanks. :)

Kids can eat anything off the buffet. The kids buffet is really there mainly to ensure that there is something they WILL eat, but they CAN eat anything. It's a great time to let them try new things. Have a good trip!

We ate at both places on our trip that ended one week ago. I agree with the previous poster that the kids' selections at CP seemed to be there just to ensure that kids would find something that they liked, but they could eat from anywhere in the buffet, as could adults (they could eat the kids' mac n cheese if they wanted to).

As for Garden Grill, they bring out a platter of food for the adults, and a platter for the children. My dd had fried chicken fingers (big ones) and macaroni and cheese. She certainly could have eaten off of our platter, too, if she had wanted to and vice-versa. I think they will even bring you seconds on anything you want, though we didn't need it!

We really loved the character interaction at both places!

Have fun!

Thanks. My DS doesn't like alot of the kid foods (yes he's that one strange child who won't eat mac and cheese, lol) and I know he'd enjoy the adult buffet foods more.

We just got back today from 8 days at POP.
We ate at Chef Mickey's twice & Crystal Palace once.

Believe it or not, my DS7 (very picky) liked Crystal Palace better.

He said the ice cream was better (I think it's the same stuff as CM) & he also liked the fries. FRIES ARE NOT ON THE BUFFET......but we asked our waiter if the restaurant had them...he said he'd ask the chef to prepare some & he brought them right out. We thought we'd be charged for them but we were not.

By the way, my DS did not eat anything off of the kids' buffets, he only ate the prime rib from the adult buffets. We were on the dining plan.
