Hi Gang

We are flying down in March with our kids, our 2 cousins and their kids. We've opted to stay over at the Fairfield Inn as our flight is at 9:10am. However their flight out is at 1:55pm so they'll probably drive to the airport and fly out. I'm trying to get them some good information about parking logistics. ;)

So, my questions are ;
- How do you park your car at the airport?
- Do you know what the prices are?
- Do you know if there are any coupons for parking (I remember seeing one somewhere)?

Thanks
A.

there is a link on the buffalo airport website for a coupon. You can park in the long term parking right on the property. I think it cost us $56 US for 8 days...

The signage for the parking lots entrances are pretty good.

There is very little covered parking.

There are parking lot shuttles that come around fairly frequently. If they are driving by you they will often pick you up even if you aren't waiting at a shuttle stop.

Make sure to write down your parking spot location or use this tip I gathered from a friend. Take a picture of the location. THat way it is on your digital camera for quick remembrance.

You can probably walk to the airport from most parking spots and save yourself the tip if you don't have young kids or lots of cumbersome luggage.

What I have done in the past is dropped my passengers and luggage at the terminal (some airlines will do curbside check-in for your luggage), and then go park my car myself and catch the shuttle. (Don't forget the car seats in the car when you do this, as I have done...twice!)

I have only ever used the long-term A lot, so I can't speak for the other lots. I do have a tip from a shuttle driver about the lot though...depending on the time of day/day of week, the lot can seem really packed with no available spaces when you first pull in. If you follow all the signs for additional parking, hang a left and go down under the service road and back up to the other side of the A lot, there is usually plenty of spots available, and all the shuttles have to pass by this way on the way to the terminal anyway! If the weather is nice, you can even walk to the terminal from this side of the lot too.

The shuttle drivers will give you business card sized ticket when you get on, noting your location in the lot. A good idea is to put it with your parking stub (that you get when you enter the lot) and car keys so you have it handy when you return, then give it to the return driver so they know where you are parked. Most of the drivers will actually slow down and ask you to point out which row or which car is yours and will take you right to your car.

This is great advice for whatever airport you park at. I did the same thing at Pearson last time, remembering where you parked after a week away at Disney can be tough! Another tip is to go out of your way to park in a visible spot on an aisle if possible - I figure the car will be safer if it's not buried in the middle of a row amongst a sea of other vehicles.

They will give you a ticket to tell you what lot its in ..just don't lose that like we did last time...thats when the pic came in handy :rotfl:

I agree, if you go as far as you can toward the airport in the additional parking section, you can actually get quite close to the airport...about a 3-4 minute walk. I've been there multiple times including March and December, and I always walk. I'm certain the shuttle would have taken longer (although this past December, I would have been warmer waiting for the shuttle in the terminal). Of course, I always drop the wife, kids and luggage off at the terminal first.

The only thing with Instaparking is that its not on airport property....
Long term B parking right at the airport s $40 for a week, Long Term A is $40

Are both A and B lots the same price? Is that before or after the discount at the airports web site for the A lot?
