Buffalo Airport Hotels -- parking!

If you're planning to stay at a Buffalo Airport hotel and fly to MCO, I have an advisory and a request:

Advisory: Call to confirm if your room rate includes parking! I found some attractive rates at a couple BUF hotels (SleepInn, Ramada), but when I called to double check on the rate, I was advised that parking wasn't included in that rate, and the "special Park and Fly rate" was about $40 more.

Request: Can anyone recommend a hotel they know has a great (i.e. sub $100) Park and Fly rate?

At this point, I'm thinking I'll just book a cheap room for $80 and use the parking at the Airport (which isn't even so cheap anymore since they've changed the coupon!).

What changes are you referring to? I just checked the airport parking website and the parking rates are exactly the same for the Long Term A lot as they were over 2 years ago. With a coupon available on their site, the max. weekly rate is US$38 plus taxes. By Toronto standards, that's a deal. :confused3

Hmmm... maybe I'm mistaken on the coupon then. I thought there was another one that was only $25/week or something like that.

Still $38 is cheaper than the add-on at the hotels I called, so that might be the solution.

I'm not. We only live 1 1/2 to 2 hours away so we'll drive this time. Other times, we spend the night with family that live 5 minutes from the airport. They let us leave our car there and they shuttle us to the airport. This time though, we'll have 2 cars so we'll drive straight to the airport the day of the flight and park onsite.

We stayed at Hilton Homewood Suites. It was $149US, it included dinner, breakky, airport shuttle and parking. It is an ALL suites hotel [two rooms & kitchen] and very nice. The indoor pool was awesome! Dinner wasn't Royal York style, more like a Shoney's. But breakky was excellent. This is how I broke down the cost and value.

Dinner for 4 $50
Breakky for 4 $30
Parking for 11 days $80

TOTAL $160, we only paid $149, in a way, we got all of the above plus $11. heeheehee. S

Try www.parksleepfly.com for rates various hotels in Buffalo.

We are staying at the Best Western at the Airport for $119 incl. parking, shuttle and breakfast.

I just booked the Ramada Limited Buffalo Airport for $99 incl. parking, shuttle and breakfast.

Interestingly, the posted rate for the hotel is $69. Parking adds $30. I found the hotel on the www.parksleepfly.com website for only $89 (plus a $4.99 site convenience charge) and when I tried to claim against Ramada's Lowest Price Guarantee, they said the park, stay and fly rate didn't qualify. :(

I use priceline for about $40 then drive over to parking lot for $38.

Hmmm... after reading some reviews on the Ramada Limited on TripAdvisor.com, I'm considering cancelling the reservation. Ewww...

www.buffaloairport.com on the left you will see "realtime parking availability" click on that and then you will see a box that says "customer special" click on that. You will then have to enter your email and zip code. It will accept a Canadian postal code. Click submit and voila a link to the coupon.

For those of you that have used a hotel park n fly deal, how efficient are the shuttles? Do you have to wait long upon returning back to Buffalo? I am used to the airport parking and shuttle which is so efficient but am considering a hotel deal this time.

We've stayed at Homewood Suites and HIE and both times we called when we arrived and they came over within 10 mins - no problem at all. For the trip over to the airport we arranged a time the night before. The only problem we had was that we had to get to the airport so early the breakfast wasn;t up and running so we got a bag breakfast to go - still nice though!
