BUF parking advice

We use priceline for our hotel. I always bid between $38 to $40 and either get Millenium or Days Inn. Then we drive over to airport and park there.

If you can get a room for that price it makes no sense what so ever to use the hotel parking. It's only $55 a week (full price) to park at the airport. The best park/sleep/fly rate I have seen was $119 plus tax.

use the airport coupon to make parking $50 + hotel $40 = super cheap.

It didn't work out like that for us as we were travelling during Christmas. We tried to find deals right up until the day we left without luck!

I tend to look for flights that depart around 11am...for a few reasons and one is that I don't need to find a hotel for the night before. My DH would just get up and leave home at 3am or whatever scary hour. Since we disagree on that the best option is to not even look at flights prior to 11am.

We are flying out on March 9th from Buffalo. Never had trouble getting a spot at the airport. Have flown from there March break and Christmas before including new years eve and always lots of parking.

Thanks...my concern was that we will be flying on Tues. March 15th which is already a few days into MB. Sounds like we will be fine though.

We hope you are but it seems like others have given some different options for you as well.
Good luck!

I parked at BUF once over March break 3 years ago this coming March. When we got back I was surprised to find out they were using temporary parking on the grass/mud (it was March and thawing) over on the opposite side of the airport to the Long Term B lot. I guess it would be the west side of the airport because all the other lots were full. People were trekking through the mud to their cars with their luggage. Luckily we had flown out on the Saturday and were able to get a regular spot, but I did have to wait until they had taken all the others to their mud spots before they took me to my car.

Temp parking can and does occur if needed, but there were spots just not good ones.

I talked with my friend yesterday and have decided to look into the park/sleep/fly rates. We could do a little shopping before flying out in the afternoon. I did mention that I'm not game to leave my keys with the hotel so that's a deal breaker. Anyway, I will investigate.

I have a "Park and Fly" rate booked at Sleep Inn and Suites Buffalo Airport for the end of January... does anyone know if they request your keys?

We stayed there in December 2010 and you do not leave your keys with them. You arrange a time to drive your car over to the airport parking lot (on the hour or half hour, I believe), and you follow their shuttle and park your own car. They'll drive you back to the Sleep Inn, and give you a ticket, which tells you the lot you are parked in.
