We are considering staying off site for the first time. With 3 kids it's getting cramped and costly to stay on site.

Doing some research has lead me to Buena Vista Suites on World Center Drive.
I can get a 1 br suite with full american breakfast buffet (5/27-6/2) for $642.24.
This sounds like a great deal, but I'd love to hear from people who have stayed here.

I have 3 kids -12,8 and 5. Our last 3 trips we stayed at the Poly, 2 room at Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge.

Would we be happy here? I'd love to hear all reviews, good or bad. Thanks!!!

I just booked them for next Nov and have my fears as well, having stayed in much nicer places. I did a search of this place using the search option up above....and read for over an hour pros and cons. This time to Florida, we are choking down the $279 per person admission to Discovery Cove so I really can't justify another fancy place to stay.

I am going into it knowing we will not be at the room very often. I think a breakfast in the morning is key. I think having a semi-kitchen is also key and you can go buy some groceries near by.

I have read this a few times....but was true months ago...that people staying at Buena Vista Suites have rights to the pool facilites next door at the Caribe Royale? Is that still true? Does anyone know?
If so, that's a huge bonus with kids! The Caribe Royale has a wonderful huge pool and water slides, etc.

Also Google Trip Advisor for Buena Vista Suites and you can scroll back 2 years worth of opinions on this place. Mostly positive, some bad.

Happy reading! :goodvibes I spent hours doing the same thing just the other day! ::yes::

We got our rate at $88/night. Did you? That was for 2 queens and I do believe the suite has two rooms.

Hi - We've never stayed here....driven by plenty of times. The location to Disney is very close. That sounds like a really good rate for a week. You may also want to check out hotelkingdom.com to see what they have available for the week you are there. We've booked through them several times and have always had great luck with the places.

A couple other places you could check out would be any of the Marriott Timeshare resorts....Grande Vista is very nice with beautiful pools and large 2 bedroom villas. Sometimes they have great rates on their website for Marriott reward members. Just go to Vacationclub.com look for Orlando resorts and then type in M11 in the promo code box where you can check rates.

Cypress Pointe is also close and nice...not as nice as Marriott IMO, though. We stayed there through Hotel Kingdom for around $100 a night last Feb. for a 3 bedroom villa.

Windsor Palms is also another resort close by that is very nice. You can rent condos there very reasonable as well.

Hope this helps give you some ideas.

Happy planning!

Thanks for the input Dis Nurse! I didn't get the $88/night. I looked through Dreams Unlimited. Still a good price though, I think. If I could only get the courage to book it!!

Heather C thanks for the suggestions, I'm going to look into those right now!

We stayed there that same week last year and we loved it. It was a great deal and you can't beat that free FULL breakfast and those suites. We filled up on breakfast and ate some meals in the room to save money. It was a straight shot into the parks on 535. It took us 10 min tops to get from the hotel to the parking lots of the parks.
The only down side would be the pool area. Nothing fantastic - just a plain ol' pool.

I just got back from a 6 night stay at Buena Vista Suites. I got the rate from mousesavers.com (88/night) and it was GREAT for the price! I was staying with four other adults (shh...you're technically supposed to pay a fee for a 5th adult...but we didn't). We had plenty of space. My mom and my girlfriends, and I slept on the two queens in the bedroom, and my boyfriend slept on the hidabed in the living room. He said the bed was quite comfy. Each room has a TV, so that's nice if people want to watch different shows. The rooms also have two sinks, which is great for getting ready in the morning. The rooms were also very clean and were cleaned everyday by the maid service.

The breakfast and pool were also nice. The pool was a nice size and was heated...it was in the 40s at night and we were swimming! I'm sure the staff thought we were nuts, but we were from Wisconsin and the water was sooo warm! Hot tub was very, very warm...we had to jump in the pool every 10 minutes or so to cool down from it.

The only complaints I've heard of in the past about the hotel were about it's lackluster breakfast. I do no think these complaints were valid. Most hotels do not offer any breakfast. Of those that do, most only offer a continental breakfast (cold items). BVS has a hot breakfast. There was juice, donuts, muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, two kinds of potatoes, hot oatmeal and grits, buicuits and gravy, and a hot breakfast meat every morning. You can also get your eggs made to order. While the breakfast does not compare to an Embassy Suites breakfast, it served our needs just fine.

I will definitely stay at BVS next time I'm in florida.

I have stayed there not too long ago. We took our kids from church to Orlando and stayed there 2 nights. Even with our group (10 rooms) everything went smooth.

I would stay there again. Everything was great. Breakfast was pretty good too.

Bob, is there a difference in the $88 Dreams offers for a queen "room" versus the $149 BVS's site offers for a queen suite? Are we talking the same thing here because if we are I'd definetly would go thru Dreams. :)

Hi Kitty 34, That is the same type queen suite for the cheaper price through Dreams.

.

Oooooooh! Great news and clarification! :goodvibes I was wondering the same thing! I have it booked for $88/night through Dream Unlimited and now I KNOW I got a good deal! :cool1:

We've never stayed here but I can tell you it is very close to Disney. Last year we stayed for 2 days / 1 night at the Sheraton Safari hotel. Every time we would be coming back from a disney hotel or park, we would end up at the BVS. No matter which way we turned trying to get back to Sheraton Safari, we always ended up by the BVS. I told Dh that I thought that was a sign we should stay there the next time. :rotfl2: :sunny:

Thanks Bob. That's good to know. :cool1:

We booked thru Dreams Unlimited for a week at BVS, starting May 20. We got the $88 per night rate for a queen suite. It sounds like a really good deal for Orlando and a great way to save money.

Last time at WDW, we stayed at Wilderness Lodge and loved it. But, the rooms are on the small side and, for the price paid, we expected a bit more for the room. Still, the experience of staying at a Disney resort is not one to be missed.

We haven't stayed there, but did stay next door at Caribe Royale this past November. I think they are owned by the same company. It is really close to Downtown Disney. We rode a bus to Epcot one day from the Caribe Royale and I think it also stopped at Buena Vista Suites.
