Buena Vista Palace

Hi folks!

Has anyone stayed at the Buena Vista Palace?

It looks really nice and the location is just about as good as staying onsite but with a HUGE cost saving.

I've found a lot of American reviews, but would appreciate knowing what some Brits thought of it.

We've stayed there twice but it was at least 10 years ago, however it is a supurb hotel, we often pop in to the bar on the top floor. Great location for Downtown & Crossroads, only slight irritation is if they still charge the dreaded 'resort fee', which as we all know is a complete rip off for NO EXTRA BENEFITS. It all depends on what sort of deal you can get, I would stay there again but as we are DVC members there is no point.

We've stayed there twice too and loved it. The rooms are spacious but the refurbed ones didn't have safes when we were there. Lots of people were complaining so they may have solved this. Like John, we are now DVC members so won't be staying there again but only because we can now stay at SSR.

The breakfast is very ggod but as expensive as a theme park character meal so we tended to head out to the parks or the Perkins at the Crossroads.

One tip for adults, the pool in the spa area can be used by adult hotel guests. It's very quiet, has lovely loungers and has lots of shade in the little cabanas. In the afternoon you are often the only people there.

Ask for a room which looks out towards Epcot as you can see the fireworks from your balcony.

Stayed there twice and wouldn't hesitate to stay again although we are now DVC members.

Ask for a high floor - doesn't matter which way you look, there are great views. It has been refurbished since we last stayed so can't comment on the rooms but they do look great from what I have seen on the website.

Excellent location also.

What price do you have? about £60-65/night
Tripadvisor reviews seem to like it which usually means its very good, they are a hard lot to please

Another close is the former Grosvenor Resort after its multimillion $ renovation now called The Regal Sun Resort under £40/night

I think both have resort fees.
