Buena Vista Palace Refurbishment

Has anyone stayed in a room that's supposed to have a view of the EPCOT fireworks? If so, does it and is it worth the extra money?

Based on maps, I'd say that the Buena Vista Palace is 2.5 to 3 miles to Epcot (as the crow flies). This is a photo posted on Trip Advisor from an Epcot-view room. Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for this view:

Thanks. Yeah, that's kind of disappointing. DH doesn't like staying for fireworks, so the kids have never seen them. I hoped this might be a way for them to get a taste.

Thanks for posting the pictures. It's interesting to look at the before and after.

I am excited for our trip.

We just stayed in a room with a view of the fireworks. It was pretty far in the distance, but it was nice. Everything was good on our stay, room was clean, updated. Didn't have any issues.

Hi!
Thanks for the update!

So, was it worth asking for a fireworks view?

Did you try the hotel for breakfast? or the character breakfast?

Thanks!

Here's a photo I received from a UK Disney forum dated 5th of June of the pool area.

I also received an email from the hotel a couple of days ago that the pool area should be completed by the time my family visits which is the beginning of October.

Fingers crossed.........

Wow! It looks like they are almost done. We will be there in a couple of weeks. We have water parks and more tickets to use, so we don't "need" the pool. I was just hoping for the convenience. Thanks for the pic and the update.

Here's a few screenshots of the lazy river area looking almost finished found on trip advisor. Looks like the pool area is taking shape & may soon be finished.

Got a free room with my points, got a balcony fireworks view which was the same points as a standard room. No worried about the pool as we are just there for one night quick Epcot adults only day for our anniversary. I might just have to book another in the future that pool does look amazing wonder when they will open!!

If you look at the first pic, you can see both the lazy river & the pool have been filled with water. The tiling looks just about finished too. Can't wait!

Has anyone any news on how the pool area is shaping up? Any dates on when the hotel is saying it should be open? I have very recently been informed by the Virgin Florida Rep that the hotel is hoping to open the pool & lazy river during the first week of September.
Let's hope this information is accurate.
